Adult Classes... Getting Started... Don't be shy. If you are between 12-80 years old, do come along to a Club Session. Mayo Shin Do Clubs are small, non-intimidating and you will find a friendly bunch of folks from all walks of life!. You can either just turn up at a class, or you can ring an instructor first if you wish. Unfit?...
If you are suffering from any physical ailments or you are physically
unfit, don't worry, Mayo Shin Do is a gentle art and your instructor will
accomodate you into the class. Just let him know of your condition either
over the phone or at the class. Here everyone starts as beginners. All are welcome, both juniors and seniors, fit or unfit, young or old. What to wear?... Don't forget to bring some loose, comfortable clothing to start with. You will be taught to your need. There will be no aggressive sparring. We train to improve, not to compete. Just turn
up!... To Start Mayo Shin Do, turn up at a club, or call Clive (Sennen
& Never too old!... Adult Classes are from 12 to 80 years of age. There are adult classes in Sennen (Friday), St Just (Wednesday) and Marazion (Tuesday).
Karate
Suit?... You don't need a Karate Suit when you start, just turn up
and bring some loose comfortable clothing.

= Sennen Community Hall Finally... You will need to complete a small application form when you join. Your instructor will give you this at the club. Safety - Tell the instructor if you have any illness or injury. If you have any problems with your feet, wear thin trainers/plimsolls/slippers etc. Please do not eat, chew or wear jewellery in training. Do not mess about, show off or 'play fight' - someone could get hurt. ETIQUETTE - Please Bow when entering or leaving the place of training (Dojo), to the instructor at the start and end of each session, and to each other at the start or end of any paired up work. Show respect for the instructor, to each other and in what you are doing. Focus and enjoy yourself. Over time the personal rewards are immense! |
