St Leonard's has quite a history
with 'On Call', beginning with +Michael, the founder and Executive
Bishop within the Order. He was consecrated bishop in the chapel.
The chapel (built soon after 1086
or there abouts) is a beautiful building in equally beautiful
surroundings and retains a sense of peace and calmness.
There are a variety of services
throughout the year including wedding blessings, baptisms, communion
services and masses, carol and other seasonal services and prayer.
+Ian
is the Order's attached priest and takes most of the services at St Leonard's.
Recent upgrades to the chapel this
year include new altar linen, altar cross and candle sticks, a new
paschal candle stand, a new sound system, a replacement organ and a
font cover featuring the opening lines of Psalm 23 and the welcoming
arms of Christ.
It is a truly beautiful place and
is well worth a visit, even if it is to simply sit quietly to reflect
on and enjoy the peace that can be found there. If the chapel is
locked, just ask at the staff on the Castle's reception desk and it
will be opened for you.
The lovely couple in the pictures
are Jason and Collette Sutcliffe who had their wedding blessed this
year by +Ian. The service was an absolute delight in all respects and
many thanks go to Jason and Collette for letting their pictures
appear on this page.
