|
| Uranus orbits the Sun at a distance of 2870 million kilometres. It takes 84 years to complete one of these orbits. It is a jovian planet with a diameter of 50,800 km. The other jovian planets (jupiter-like) are Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. Uranus was not known in ancient times, but was discovered by William Herschel in 1781 using a reflecting telescope that he had built himself. | ||
