We recruit all over the country and our area "recruiting sergeants" are:For the North and Scotland Haggie at North@LordGeneral.org.uk For the Midland and Wales Sam at Midlands@LordGeneral.org.uk For the South and Abroad Martin at South@LordGeneral.org.uk |
In order to participate in this unusual and exciting hobby, you will have to become a member of the Sealed Knot. This costs as little as £10 for a temporary membership that lasts for one weekend. The added advantage of a temporary membership, apart from being able to "suck it and see", is that when you find you really enjoy it, the cost of the temporary is taken away from the cost of your annual or half yearly membership!.
On top of this great offer the regiment will also kit you out for the weekend in 17th century costume an will assign a "buddy" to you to look after and help you enjoy your weekend. Membership gives you free camping at SK events where applicable and a bi-monthly society magazine, The Orders of The Day, as well as being able to take part in the events.
Membership through our regiment gives you the additional bonus of the Earl of Essex Regiment bi-monthly publication 'Libertas' and support and help for anything 17th century and occasionally other historical periods too.
As you can see from the cover photo of Orders of the Day shown here, we involve not just the adults but also the children as much as possible. We have several children in the regiment and we do things specifically for them. The older ones (12-15) can join the apprentices to train and try out the roles taken by the adults.
