JH 7958, Neil St. Clair-Ford.
Neil bought JH 7958 in 1999 in Guildford. It was all in bits but one of the commitments for the car was to be at the 1999 750 60th Anniversary of the 750 Motor Club. It made it there and was reunited with Jem Marsh who was also present.
The car has most of the SPEEDEX special parts. Notable things to look at are the camshaft driven magneto(?) and the belt system for the water pump and alternator. The little jockey tensioning wheel for the belts is particularly neat. The car has a LRM cylinder head ‘Lee Racing Motors’, this head with its distinctive three water branches was developed by Roy Lee an active 750 racer in the fifties and was sold through Super Accessories in an addition to their Supaloy head. Another notable feature is the adjustable bottom arm on the IFS, this allows an adjustment of camber to tune the handling.
A very smart well turned out 750. |
