A hard one for the
commentators this one. He was a Polish international who had looked
full of promise when he first moved to Exeter from Hull. Following
some impressive second half outings around the County Ground, he was
to make it into the full team when Les Rumsey stood down and picked
up one point against Coventry. Sadly he wasn't to improve on his
early promise and faded out of the team. appeared in 13 matches
for Exeter in 1976 and averaged 2.23

Exeter for the 1989 season, and after a slow start was soon

Bengt Andersson appeared in 18 matches in 1970 and averaged 5.21 having joined from
Wolverhampton as a replacement for the injured Bruce Cribb. Started to look impressive,
before a bad spill put him out of the side. When he returned, he struggled badly on away
tracks, and when he missed a meeting having missed his plane, together with the return to
fitness of Bruce Cribb, Bengt's days as a Falcon came to an end.

Martin joined from swindon where he had lived in the shadows of Briggs and Broadbanks
and after much negotiation, he moved to Exeter. Martin had actually protested to the
Rider Control Comittee about the transfer, and promptly had his best ever two seasons
in the Colours of Exeter. Was instantly liked by the fans and the
move was to be a good decision for Martin who emerged as one of the Division One's
most improved riders. read
