DAY, DENNIS - 1962, 1963
Dennis joined from Ipswich for the start of the 1962 season along with Jack Unstead, and after a period of adjustment was soon scoring well before a smash that kept him out for some time. He scored 141 points from 26 matches in his first year and 182 from 41 meetings in the 1963 season. He moved onto Hackney for the start of 1964 that was to be his last season as he retired from the sport following a bad spill at Newport when he suffered a badly fractured arm.
DEARDEN, DOUG - 1965, 1966
Appeared in 12 matches during the 1965 season averaging less than a point, whilst in 1966 he appeared in 15 matches and averaged better on 2.32. Little is known about Doug's career as a rider before joining Exeter in 1965, but he left Exeter in a Swap deal in 1966 that brought Aland Smith to the County Ground whilst Doug moved the other way. However, it seems Doug made just four appearances for Kings Lynn, although he continued racing on the grass track circuits, and was still riding in 1975.
DRYMLL, ALES - 1978, 1979
Born 10.6.1953 in Czechoslovakia, the exciting Czech rider was brought into the Falcons line up near the close of the 1978 season in Exeters's push for honours, appearing in only two meetings scoring 15 plus two bonus from 8 rides. In 1979 he appeared in 27 matches averaging 6.47 and moved to Sheffield at the end of the season when Exeter dropped into the National League. In 1980 he went on to reach the World Final scoring 5pts to finish twelth while in 1993 he reached the World Long Track Final.
DICKEN, LEE - 1999
Lee joined on loan from Elite League side Hull where he had found life a bit difficult. He had been assesed as a nine point man, but it soon became apparent that the big County Ground circuit was not to his liking. Despite some good away performances, Lee averaged 6.46 from 12 meetings for the Falcons which was not going to be enough to warrant a further loan spell at Exeter for the 2000 season.
