Borivoj Hadek was a new signing in 1995 from the Czech Republic at a time when very little
was actually known about him. Struggled somewhat at times his team place was always under
threat, yet from time to time pulled off some spectacular scoring. Was axed from the
side early in Sept as his average of under 6 would not allow him a work permit for the
1996 season. Had the ability but seemed to lack the willingness to show it.
Ended that 95 season on a 4.71 average.

A former England international, Arnie was a veteran by the time he came to Exeter in 1980
and his time with the Falcons was to be a short one. Constantly dogged by mechanical problems,
his contract was later to be terminated following his failure to turn up for a home
meeting. Later linked up with Edingburgh before joining Cradley for the start
of 1981 and later still Oxford. During his short stay at Exeter he appeared in 19 matches
and averaged 5.83pts. Sadly passed away on March 6th, 2003.

Don joined Exeter in 1947 after being originally signed by New Cross and ended up as the
Falcon's second top scorer behind Cyril Roger. Whilst progressing well at Exeter, New
Cross decided he warranted a run the Div 1 New Cross side, but he had failed to impress
so they sold him full time to Exeter for £400. His 9 years at the County Ground was a
record for many years before Michael Coles took the title.During his time he was to appear
in an incredible 258 matches for the Falcon's, scoring no less than 1,799pts, with an
incredible average of just under seven points in every meeting. read more

Riding alongside Don Hardy was New Zealander Jack, who in his three seasons at Exeter
appeared in 74 matches, and scored a total of 391 pts for the Falcons. He was an easily
recognisable figure around the County Ground because of his refusal to wear a face mask.
He had an unlucky day on his debut for Exeter against the Swedish touring side Smederna
when he fell and broke a leg during the second half of the meeting.

Joined Exeter in 1961 from Rayleigh at a time when Exeter were being decimated by injuries and impressed
on his debut at home to Stoke on April 17th when he scored 8 points. Shortly after that he partnered Geoff
Mudge to take eqaul first place in the Best Pairs competition at Exeter and was already being tipped as a hot
prospect. But Clive was to make only eight appearances for the Falcon's before quitting the sport to concentrate
on business commitments.

Eric first started riding at Exeter in 1960 when Exeter had an open licence, and agreed to
captain the falcons on their return to League racing in 1961. Won that first race and ended the night
on a maximum. Became virtually unbeatable at Exeter, before a smash at Wolverhampton kept
him out for a few weeks, and on his return he scored very little. Left to try and find
his form at Stoke. Eric was to appear
in 14 meetings for Exeter scoring a total of 103 pts. Was a former Track record holder
in 1960 when he clocked a time of 77.4 seconds.

Born March, 4th 1922, Stan was brought out of retirement to join Exeter after previously
having been at Wombwell and proved to be a
useful rider in three seasons as a Falcon. Made his debut on Monday August 25th,
and a week later in his second home match, he collected his first maximum. In all he rode in 63
matches for Exeter and scored 392pts. He had been dogged by ill health throughout the
year but would not heed medical advice to
retire, and after top scoring for Exeter at Liverpool on June 7th
and the next night at Halifax on June 8th, he returned home and collapsed and died
shortly afterwards at the young age of 27.

Johnnie was most noted for his days at Bristol, where he had spent seven years before their
closure that saw him come to Exeter. Joined the Falcon's late in June, and his arrival
meant the departure of Johnny Sargeant with a surplus of riders available. Won his opening
debut race but failed to score in the reat of the meeting, but slowly he began to score well,
picking up his first paid max against Oxford in August. When Exeter closed down in 1956,
he rode for Southampton before rejoining Bristol in 1960.

Czechoslavian Jan rode for Exeter in 1969 and again in 1970 but was obviously unable to
settle here as he returned home at the end of the 1970 season never to ride in the
British League again. Jan had certainly made an impact with the Falcons though
scoring highly with an average of 8.12 from 31 matches in 1969 and 6.8 from 28 in 1970.

Steve joined Exeter in mid 1988 after Canterbury had closed in 1987, and his success in the Junior team
was rewarded with rides for the Falcon's first team in 1989 that earnt him an average of 4.00pts.
A bad spill on the first bend at the County Ground in the early stages of the 1990 season was to eventually put an end
to Steve's racing career with a broken thigh. Tried to make a comeback in 1991, but was advised against riding
and Steve finally called it a day around may of that year.

Goog was one of the few who had spent such a long time at Exeter and fourth in the record
appearances list. For good measure he even attempted a comeback in 1963, but found the new style of the sport to demanding. Once
held the track record around the County Ground with a time of 72.6, and he was the holder
of the Southern League Bronze helmet in 1953 after beating Gerald Jackson of Rayleigh.
He had also made an appearance for an England 'C' side, but was to only manage a single
point. In all, Goog had competed in 188 matches for Exeter and totalled 1,286 pts. Sadly
Goog passed away in January, 2005.

Ian was to join Exeter in March, 1992 with an average of less than three but was to find
the Exeter circuit to his liking, and his average quickly rose to 6pts before injuries
were to set him back. In that 1992 season he averaged 4.74 from 18, but his injured knee
was to dog him for the remainder of his stay at Exeter. Was included in the line up for the
start of the 1993 season, but further injuries and the arrival of new faces were to
signal the end of Ian's team place.
