at Exeter in 1971. In his first season at the County Ground he was ever present in all Exeter's
37 matches and was to end on an average of 6.42. His second season saw him get off to a

Bob was another member of the ill-fated 1961 side that saw riders carted of to
hospital faster than they could be signed. It was actually Bob who started the
ball rolling when he broke his ankle whilst riding at Plymouth. He came back
in 1962 for five meetings but only managed to average 1.09pts, and the arrival
of Alan Cowland meant there was no room for Bob.

Peter joined Exeter in 1987 as a junior, before he
was brought into the 1988 side to make up the numbers and claim a permanent team place.
His points tally grew each season until 1992, when he spent 23 weeks in plaster followed in
1993 by a switch to Swindon. Returned to the County Ground late into the 1996 season and
in 1997 and 1998 was scoring highly. A bad smash early into the 1999 season was to keep
Peter out for the entire season, and eventually led him to retire from the sport.

Born Sept 2nd, 1953 in Bromley Kent, Gordon was runner up in the 1978 World Final and was
seen as an ideal Heat leader when he joined the Falcons in 1993. But it soon became
apparent that Gordon disliked the track and riding for Exeter, and apart from a few
encouraging meetings, he was something of a dissapointment. Averaged only 6.93 from 33
matches and left towards the end of the season to join Wolverhampton.
