Mark was the stepson of former international Jim Lightfoot, and like many
other riders, he had started out on the grass circuits before joining the
Milton Keynes camp. It was in 1982 that he was to join Exeter from Coventry on a full contract
and had been signed to help strengthen the sqaud. had been showing real promise including a
paid 11 when he was seriously injured with lung damage, and on his return was straight back
on the injured list with broken ribs. Averaged just 3.25 from 5 meetings.

Born on October 2nd, 1959, in Mount Isa North Queensland, Australian Steve had come to
Exeter from King's Lynn via Ipswich midway through 1988 owing to the Falcons being decimated through
injuries and was to become an Exeter asset the following season. Averaged 7.90 from 14 in
that first season, whilst in 1989 it leapt to 9.74 from 42, and again increased in 1990
to 10.20. In 1991 he had averaged 8.74 from 21, before moving in 1992 after he had come
under some criticism from the management for his attitude.

Australian Steve had joined the British League following
a brilliant performance for the Aussie test side against the British Lion's,
scoring double figures in every match he rode.
He had also been the 1973 Australian champion, and was to continue his good showing at
Exeter despite a broken collar bone. Rode in 19 matches and averaged 5.57
But 1975 saw Steve return home following a period of unease with Exeter when disciplined for failing to turn up for two matches and had averaged 6.07 from 28 meetings.

Alan joined Exeter on loan from K.Lynn in July of 1986 and showed well averaging 7.80
from 15 matches. He was ever present in the 1987 season and ended the season as Exeter's highest
points scorer with an average of 7.59 from 32. His average was to dip slightly in 1988
when he ended on 6.43 from 31. His form dipped further at the start of 1989, and after only
ten matches he left for Long Eaton, rode four matches and promptly quit British Speedway.

Born 6th April, 1964 in Pontypool, Wales, Dave joined Exeter from Poole in a swap deal
that saw Ray Doyle travel in the opposite direction.
Got off to a dismal start with Exeter when he failed to score a point in his first five
matches for the Falcons, but eventually ended the 1985 season on an average of 2.49.
Improved slightly in 1986 when from 16 meetings he was to finish on an average of 3.35

Nicknamed "The Flyin Hawian", and having rode the American flat track circuits, Buddy joined
Exeter in the ill fated return to the B.League in 1984 and was an instant hit with both the
fans and the team with his showmanship approach. Less than a month after joining he was back to his homeland to fufill riding commitments
but returned for the start of August looking even better than before. But his season
was then blighted by a technical offence in his own country and he missed a couple of Exeter's
last matches. Buddy had averaged 5.27 from 18 matches in 1984

Bert was to be one of three brothers who donned the Falcons vest around this
period. Coming in on loan from New Cross, Bert was to spend just the one season
at Exeter before being recalled. Scored 12pts in his debut meeting, the Tom Crutcher
Memorial Trophy and went on to win the local round of the Speedway Riders Championship
at the County Ground. Scored many maximums and along with brother Cyril was instrumental
in Exeters Div 3 Title win of 1948.

Bob was another New Cross assett, and like his bothers, he came to Exeter on loan and
became a huge success virtually overnight. Joined Exeter in 1951 and made his debut
at home scoring just 3 points against Swindon in a challenge match, but the following week
scored 16pts in Exeter's Nat.Trophy match against Plymouth. Scored 290 points from 36
League matches, ended the season 5th highest in Div 3 and 7th in the Div 3 Riders
Championship before being recalled by New Cross. Bob passed away on Dec 17th, 2002

Cyril was the first of the Rogers trio to come to Exeter on loan from New Cross in 1947
and made an immediate impact scoring 12 in the "Probables" v "Possibles" meeting and scored
many maximums thereafter. Finished the 47 season as Div 3 Riders Champion, and along with
his Brother Bert in 1948, was instrumental in Exeter's Div 3 Title win. Set a new track
record of 76.2 secs in 1948 before being recalled towards the latter part of the season.
Cyril was to appear in four World Finals, his best being in 1950 when he finished 12th on 5pts.

Having previously been at Berwick in 1986 - 1988, Wayne Ross joined Exeter in 1989
and totalled 14 matches for the Falcons, averaging 3.27 points. Wayne had come to
the County Ground on the recomondation on Falcon Dave Trownson, and his whereabouts
after he left Exeter are unknown.

Born July 23rd, 1965, Alun first rode for Exeter in a couple of late season
meetings when Exeter were short before joing the side full time in 1983. During the
season of 1983 he appeared in 40 matches for the Falcons and averaged 7.12 in only
his first season at National League level. Left for the 1984 season, but was to
make a return in 1996 when he ended the season on 6.50 from 21 meetings.

Born on the 27th July, 1955 in Canterbury, Les came to Exeter in 1975 before becoming
a full member in 1976. During that opening season he appeared in 9 meetings for the
Falcons and averaged 5.71 and was seen as a bright prospect. He was to double up
with Canterbury in 1976, but his form at Exeter dipped and from 16 meetings he
totalled an average of 3.48. His spell on loan obviously benefited him as he returned
to the Exeter line up in 1978 and averaged 6.06 from 27 matches.
