Kevin Price was born on the 5th May, 1965, and was to have a flirtatious career with Exeter after coming through the junior ranks.

He had been spotted at a pre season trial and who continued to have interval rides until he was able to sign on his sixteenth birthday. First rode speedway with the Midlands Junior Grass Track club at Cradley Heath in 1977.

Made his debut on May 11th, 1981 at home to Boston which was the only meeting he rode in that season and was given an average of just 1.33. He had then requested a move for the 1982 season and appeared in Junior League racing for both Leicester and Birmingham.

Rejoined Exeter for the 1983 campaign which was followed by a brief spell at Cradley though he was soon back at the County Ground once again. Ended the 1983 season on an average of 6.28 from 40 meetings. When Exeter moved back up to the British League in 1984, Kevin went on loan to weymouth, although he did help out by riding for the Falcons in seven matches to average 2.59.

With Exeter dropping back down to Nation League level in 1985, Kevin took the opportunity of a team place with both hands and ended up being voted the Rider of the Year by the supporters. Finished that 85 season averaging 6.91 from 38 meetings.

Having left to join Long Eaton towards the latter stages of 1986, he did make a brief return to the County Ground during an injury crisis in 1987. During 1986, he had avaeraged 6.13 from 26 meetings, whilst in the 10 meetings he rode in 1987 he averaged 6.81.
