The hunt met at a farm close to the village of Morcott in Rutland. Richard decided to park the trailer a couple of miles away from the farm so that he could settle Oscar down before meeting up with all the other horses. Or was it that he just didn't know where the farm was located?
The hack to the yard went without incident, but by the time that they arrived at the farm Oscar was eager to get on with the hunt! Although he soon settled down and managed to stand still long enough to pose for the photographer.
Initially Richard kept Oscar to the rear of the 'pack', but it wasn't long before Oscar got his own way and got into the thick (and front) of the action. He really took to the job in hand and easily popped over any obstacles that appeared. In fact he was keen to try anything and Richard had to be quick to react if he thought that may be too much (too soon) for Oscar.
The weather and ground were perfect and both Oscar and Richard had a great day out. Oscar gaining in confidence and sure footed-ness and Richard happy that his training/fitness programme is having the right effect.
