The Bible The Bible is the most unique book in existence. One of its most outstanding features is accurate prophecy. In its pages god is revealed as the "One telling from the beginning the finale, and from long ago the things that have not been done." (Isaiah 46:10) Centuries in advance the Bible foretold which kingdoms would dominate the international scene, and the order in which they would appear. It named men before they were born and told in detail the acts they would perform. It set out advanced notice of acts of God. More strikingly perhaps than any other feature, prophecy distinguishes the Bible from all other ancient sacred writings. But to acquire insight and understanding of God's will and purpose regarding mankind and the whole of creation, we need first to unlock the treasure chest of knowledge. Like all treasure chests, this of course requires a key. One hundred years ago the key in the form of a book was written. This book, under the title The Divine Plan of the Ages, reveals for the first time the identification of the Christ, a mystery which has been hidden for nineteen hundred years. Adam and Eve Adam, the first of only three perfect humans ever to walk the earth, was created just a little lower than the angels. the name Ad'am comes from a root word meaning "red" and, similar to the red Indians, he had no hair on his body except on his head and eyebrows. Created in God's image, the perfect man Adam, and his degenerate offspring to a much lesser degree, possessed mental powers and abilities far superior to all other earthly creatures. Made in the likeness of his Grand Creator, Adam had the divine attributes of wisdom, justice, love and power, hence he possessed a sense of morality involving a conscience; something altogether new in the sphere of earthly life. Adam also possessed a flawless memory, better than any computer we could ever build. This is because in the beginning, man used the whole of his brain, today we use only one sixth. His longevity of life extended to almost a thousand years with no ageing of the body. During this time a vegetarian diet was enjoyed by all creatures of the Earth. (See Genesis 1:29 ["29. And God went on to say: 'Here I have given to you all vegetation bearing seed which is on the surface of the whole earth and every tree on which there is the fruit of a tree bearing seed. To you let it serve as food. 30. And to every wild beast of the earth and to every flying creature of the heavens and to everything moving upon the earth in which there is life as a soul I have given all green vegetation for food.' And it came to be so"] NWT) It is interesting to note in Genesis 2:8 that God planted a garden in a selected area he named Eden, toward the East, and there he placed the man he had already made. This means that Adam was created outside of Eden, before the garden was planted. Eve however, was created inside Eden by divine surgery; the first and only case of its kind when God took a rib from Adam and fashioned it into a female counterpart to become his wife and mother of his children. She was called woman because "from man this one was taken". Later Adam named his wife "Eve", which means the mother of all mankind. The significance of this is that the garden was created for man and not man for the garden. Also, woman was created for man and not man for woman. Later, as imperfection began to take its toll, ageing of the body sped up. The flawless memory deteriorated and man had to start writing things down, so writing has become a step backwards. A meat diet was introduced, (by God himself, (Genesis 9:3 ["3. Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to you. 4. Only flesh with its soul - its blood - you must not eat."]NWT). The purpose of this was to combat the active chemism of the sun. Meanwhile man's physical features gradually turned ape-like with hair invading parts of the body where it had never grown before. This leads to the conclusion that man did NOT develop from the ape and that the similarity is actually the result of imperfection. Jesus, who was put onto the Earth to atone for the sins of Adam, and who can quite literally be referred to as the "Second Adam", has assured us that all this will very soon be reversed and all of mankind will be given a second chance.
