Like all Presbyterian Churches, Stamperland Parish Church is run in a democratic way with two bodies, the Kirk Session and the Congregational Board responsible for the management activities.

KIRK SESSION

Led by our minister, and formed by Elders, the Kirk Session is the group responsible for the spiritual welfare of the Church and the Parish. On behalf of all our members, the Kirk Session makes decisions about how the Church is run and how it acts to promote the Christian way of life amongst the church members, those living within the parish of Stamperland and, indeed, the wider community.

Each year, the Church also holds a Stated Annual Meeting, where every one connected with the Church can get together and make their views known.

ELDERS

Elders are simply Church members called to dedicate some of their time and talents to help further the work of the Church. They can be nominated by members or the Kirk Session.  If willing, elders are then trained and approved by the whole Session, before being ordained at a special Church service.  Most Elders are appointed to visit and care for a number of Church members within a defined geographical area.

Elders serve the bread and wine at Communion and offer support to our Church organisations.

The Kirk Session meets monthly.  Each elder is also a member of (at least) one of the following Kirk Session Committees

KIRK SESSION COMMITTEES

         Worship

         Communication

         Education – Adult & Youth

         Parish & Beyond
