Welcome
A warm welcome to all new plotholders. We wish you every success on your allotment and hope you enjoy your new hobbly of "allotmenteering". If you have any queries/suggestions please pass them on to a member of the Committee.
Fundraising
As you may know, we have been trying to raise funds for our association. Fab ienne & Rose completeed the Wirral Coastal Walk and we held a plant sale in May and a sale of chutneys, jams and relishes in Melrose Hall in October. We also took scrap metal to the scrap merchants and got some money for that.
Thank you to everyone who has helped out whether by jamming or chutneying, baking, sponsoring, helping on the tables or the generous donation of many items.
We have made more than £500 which will be used to improve our site.
We are attending another sake at Melrose Hall on Saturday 22nd November so all donations or suggestions should be passed on to Fabienne or Rose.
Any spare packets of seeds would be gratefully received for plant sales next year. Thanks too to Merseyside Police for their kind donation of pots, plant food and water butts.
Bonfires
It's that time of year, but if you are going to have a bonfire, please ensure that the wind is blowing away from Hoylake as the Council received a complaint from a local resident about smells from our site.
Thieves
Plot holders should be aware that there has been theft of produce from allotments recently, so keep your eyes open.
