Retreat Day for Catechists: On Saturday 23rd January 2010 there will be a retreat day for catechists at The Briery Retreat Centre in Ilkley. Time: 10:00am to 4:00pm. The day will offer a chance for prayer and reflection on the ministry of catechesis, providing time and space for those who hand on the faith to receive some spiritual formation and support. The retreat is open to anyone involved or interested in the work of catechesis and handing on the faith to others: catechists, teachers, parents, those involved with children's liturgy, those with a ministry in the Church. "The Age of Stupid" - one of this year's most innovative and thought provoking films is being screened at The Parish Centre on FRIDAY NOVEMBER 27th at 7.30 pm. The film, produced independently, looks at our world retrospectively from the year 2055. Where did things go wrong with regard to this beautiful planet? Join the Wave Express: On Saturday 5th December 2009, ahead of the crucial UN climate summit in Copenhagen, tens of thousands of people will flow through the streets of London to demonstrate their support for a safe climate future. The Wave Express is a 500 seat charter train organised by CAFOD, Christian Aid, Leeds Justice & Peace Commission, Stop Climate Chaos and TIDAL. It will be travelling from Bradford and Leeds to Kings Cross. The tickets cost £30 full fare and £20 for the unwaged and people on low incomes. Under 5s travel free.
