There's a scene in Doug Liman's excellent film Go where Tiny (Breckin Meyer), one of those annoying white people who is under the mistaken impression that he is a black gangbanger from the meanest 'hood in town, attempts to convince Marcus (Taye Diggs) of his African-American heritage;
Tiny:
"Yo, I told you, my mother's mother's mother was black!"
Marcus: "Your mother's mother's mother, fuck! This ain't 'Roots', mutha... Man, I wanna see a picture of this Nubian princess. If you were any less black, you'd be clear!"

I mention this because the latter sentence pretty much describes me too. I'm a white English guy who went to a high school with a grand total of one black person. I'm really the last person in the World qualified to comment on black pop culture, and when I do I have a feeling it's like watching Top Of The Pops with your Dad; "Who's this? Aqua? Hmm, they certainly do sound 'ace', don't they? Wait, where are you going..?" Thing is, if I cared about looking like a complete wazzock I wouldn't be posting my half-witted reviews on the Internet for all the World to see, now would I?

Anyway, my inherent English whiteness hasn't prevented me from enjoying several facets of black entertainment. I have a certain fondness for rap, blaxploitation movies and, ohhhh yes, Pam Grier. To my mind Pam was the hottest and most badass woman of the 1970s. She was a decent actress, she kept guns in her hair, and best of all she had a stunning, curvaceous figure and a relaxed attitude to uncovering it onscreen. So what follows are my reviews of 11 Pam classics. As reviews go they may not be Dope, Fresh, Phat or Fly, they are almost definitely not The Shiznit. But they are Pam, and that means Glam! Well, except for the ones where she's in, like, Colombian jails and stuff...
