Under the professional
guidance of principal
Irene Holland,
the Willow Tree Centre of Dance & Performing Arts has been providing a wide
variety and levels of dancing, singing, and drama
classes for people of all ages (from 3 years) for many years.
Its philosophy is one, inclusion, so no matter from what background, age or
level you are (complete beginners to more advanced)
the Willow Tree Centre has something to offer you - and all at very
reasonable cost!
Some people are attracted to the Willow Tree to simply
enjoy the process of learning to dance, sing or act,
and to have the opportunity to perform in the Dance Centre's summer
showcase or in the Theatre Company's high-quality
amateur productions.
The Willow Tree also attracts more ambitious young people with the desire to
go further and engage in a full professional training.
As proven repeatedly by
previous students the Willow Tree has an impressive record of
supporting individual aspirations and helping them to secure places in some
of the best theatre and dance schools in the UK.
As Mary Breen, Principal of 'Stella Mann College of Dance & Performing Arts'
states:
"Stella Mann College of Performing Arts has had many students from the
Willow Tree Centre of Dance & Performing Arts. All these students have been
an asset to our college. They are well trained and disciplined, all with
lovely manners and a great work ethic. This must be due to their teachers
and the ethos of the school and we look forward to working with more
students from the Willow Tree Centre of Dance & Performing Arts in the
future."
The Willow Tree Centre of Dance & Performing Arts
is located in
the Visual Arts building,
Tiverton High School, Bolham Road, Tiverton.
Currently enrolled are in excess of 200 students.
The students perform
an
annual showcase (The End of Term Show) in July each year.
You can find information and photo-galleries of previous shows
here.

The Willow Tree Theatre Company
is an adult company having in excess of 50
regular members. We perform one Musical each year during
November/December.
Having been borne from the Willow Tree Dance Centre we pride ourselves in
retaining
strong links with Irene Holland. The Theatre Company produce and
present The Dance
Centre end of term show each July. Our musicals often require younger
cast members
in lead roles, or dancers and chorus members. All younger cast are
auditioned, or
chosen from the students of the dance centre by our Casting Director.
Their inclusion
in our shows is based on the students' general ability, class attendance,
behaviour,
and stage presence portrayed in their July show performances. Our
shows are a
great experience for many students hoping to build a future in the
performing arts.
