The Willow Tree Theatre Company presented two
very enjoyable evenings of musical entertainment at the Arts Centre on the
23rd and 24th July 2006. "The Musicals", a cabaret show of well known West
End and Broadway hits, delighted audiences and showed off the talents of the
amateur group.
Musical highlights included; the lively chorus numbers Too Darn Hot from Kiss Me, Kate and Thank You Very Much from Scrooge; two very well performed duets - What Is This Feeling from Wicked and Sue Me from Guys & Dolls; and some moving solo efforts -You Must Love Me from Evita and No One But You from We Will Rock You. Adding some comedy to the evening were a number of humorous songs put together in the second act to form a "Noel Coward Medley" and the monologue of "A Country Girl", who told us all about her trip to the City of Exeter - remember she's not nosey, just interested! All in all, it was a very enjoyable show and we look forward to a return visit from the Willow Tree Theatre Company before too long! Wellington Arts Association |
