Congratulations!

Well it's been another year full of activity from the Junior Sailors of DRSC. Some of our older sailors have been progressing through the national ranks. They are an inspiration to us all and deserve a huge pat on the back (as do their parents for the commitment they show!) Well done to:

William Tarn Chapman:
Now in the National Topper Squad. Also nominated for Tynedale Sports Council's 'Boy Player of the Year' award. Presentation evening to be held in December. Good luck Will!

Joe Henderson:
Now in the National Topper Squad.

Simon Weatherspoon:
Now in the North Zone Topper Squad.

Joe Trotter:
Now in the North Zone Topper Squad.

Helen Armstrong:
Contunues sailing at a high level in the Laser Radial & 4.7.
Recently awarded the coveted title of RYA North East Regional Young Sailor of the Year.
Helen will now go forward into the national competition to find Young Sailor of the Year and is invited to the London Boat Show to spend two exciting days there before the eventual winner will be a announced. Well done and good luck Helen!
Also nominated for Tynedale Sports Council's 'Girl Player of the Year' award.

On Bonfire evening there was a presentation to some of the junior & youth sailors of the club who haven't yet reached the dizzy heights of Zone and National Squads. They each were given a certificate and either an 'Easy Guide to the Sailing Rules' or a pencil set. Well done!

Joseph Lord:
For endeavour, most capsizes and losing his shoes overboard!

Dan Coady:
The youngest competitor in club racing.

Cameron Straughan:
For making that Optimist go!!!

Thomas Donald:
The most determined under 8 year old.

Derry Brown:
The loudest and noisiest newcomer!

Adam Billany:
For skill with the joystick!

Mark Donald and Peter Owen:
'Venturers award' for representing DRSC further afield.

Sophie Curtis:
For having a horrible scare then the courage to sail again.

Peter Lord:
For best tacking when things go right
