OK, so that's the folkie bit, what else is there?
Well, Ann and I have two kids; Nick who's dad to our first granddaughter, Jaden, and Clare, currently in her final year of a Physiotherapy degree at King's College in London.
Other than folk music, my other preoccupation is football. I played (not very well) until I was 53, and now spend most Saturday afternoons "in the middle" (who's the b*****d in the black?), hence my Mudcat tag of "Singing Referee". When other commitments allow, you'll find Nick and I at White Hart Lane supporting "The Lillywhites", You may have identified the shirt in the photo. I was there when we last won the league in 1961, but my most precious footballing moment was the first time Nick and I played together in the same team.
And my musical background? First public performance at 6 or 7, local scout Gang Show at 10, head chorister in church choir, 3 times winner of local music festival, almost won scholarship to Westminster School (Westminster Abbey choir), soloist in secondary school choir. First guitar at 16, Tony Rose taught at my secondary school, started folk-clubbing at 18, Scott's Hoose at Cambridge Circus, peed next to Bert Jansch. After Enfield Folk Club, member of cabaret group playing top London hotels, group folds due to family/work commitments, 25 years in musical wilderness. Rediscovered folk music!
