Biographies

Having known each other for a couple of years through the Herga and St Albans Windward folk clubs our first collaboration was when Steve invited Christine to duo on John (Cloudstreet) Thompson's 'The Green Man' as part of a feature set at the St Albans Spotlight club.

That was in June 2004, and being deemed a success by both performers and audience we decided to work on a small repertoire of songs over that summer. Encouraged by response to practice and open mike sessions at a couple of festivals, we launched ourselves on the local club scene and over the next year became established residents, feature spot and support artists at a number of local venues.

Here is what our audiences have been saying....

"The duo had everyone in the room enthralled"

"Chris Connolley.... a remarkable voice.... sensitive interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk songs"

"Steve Last.... accomplished guitar style and voice.... the perfect complement"

So where did the name come from?

Just using our own names seemed a bit boring, so we've adopted our nicknames from The Mudcat Forum when we sing together.
