STEVE MORANO are a talented 4 piece band consisting of two singer songwriters, a bassist and a drummer driving the eclectic sounds of country punk. The guys have played all around the South of England and regulars at a number of festivals including a 3rd stint at Guilfest playing the Ents 24 stage 2. They said GuilFest 06 was the highlight but went back for more at Guilfest 07 with an amazing 8 piece offering providing that something extra against the likes of Cherry Ghost, Newton Falkner and Ross Copperman; the band sold nearly £6,000 worth of tickets and are already getting ready for Guilfest 08.
All four of the band members are talented, committed and professional musicians from a wide and varied background playing acoustic, solo, as a 3 piece or whatever they are asked to do.
In terms of releases, the band have an EP out called, 'Believe' and they have notched up 1000 sales in 12 months since its release; the EP sold out for both Guilfest 06 and 07 as demand for the CDs was tremendous. Like Hard-Fi, 'Believe' was recorded at the band's HQ @ Groutfinger records which is mainly geared up for acoustic musicians but has been adapted to record the band as live as possible.
The future is looking bright for the band after such acclaim from playing on the ENTS24 Stage @ Guilfest 07. Really the four piece are looking to take that next step and hopefully securing a support slot and / or most importantly, a deal to take them that much further. There has been a lot of commercial interest in a number of songs and in particular the cheeky, "I really Wanna Bang Your Box Now Baby", the soul country driven, "Be My little Girl" and pop number, "Crying"; Steve had previously got his track, "Raining Over India" played on Australia's Triple J radio.
Steve Morano has travelled and toured Australia forming a Perth based Anglo / American / Australian band called ‘Hank’, and gained funding for a 7 days recording at Planet Studios to release the ‘Hank’ CD entitled ‘Glasses’. All the songs are original and are a mix of rock and what Steve describes as, "country punk". With regards to the other members, Mac has played in Europe, whilst Mark and Ross had been in prior bands!
