In the spring of 2005 I decided to push
myself a little and wove some Celtic patterns. With the help of
Kurt Laitenberger I
managed to produce these two designs. They came from a German Bronze Age site
called Hochdorf. The left one is a hooked diamond and the right one a Celtic
weave. I can only weave these with a draft pattern in front of me. The warp has
to be set up carefully and any mistakes are very difficult to put right. It was
quite a challenge.
This is a test braid that I tried a few sample
patterns on.
