WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN 'THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF BOWLS' AND LEARN HOW TO PLAY?
We are not concerned about your age...if you can bend your knees and deliver a small wood...Bowls is for you! At any rate, give it a try...let us have a look at you to see what we can do. Our Club Coaches will be very pleased to meet you and introduce you to the fascinating game of bowls...for just £1 per lesson...(see course details). You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome in 'The Wonderful World of Bowls'.
The 'full syllabus' course costs a total £12 (Adults or Junior's) and covers coaching, green fees, hire of top quality woods and shoes. Also, please note that we have numerous sets of small 'training woods' which are ideal for the younger beginner to start with. The course consists of 12 thoroughly enjoyable sessions ... each lasting for two hours. Each course will be tailor made to your experience and you will do loads of bowling from day one. During this enjoyable time, you will learn: grip, stance, line, length, jack delivery, also gain understanding of the most important elements of the laws, terminology and etiquette. When you have completed the course, you should have: a repeating delivery, some knowledge of strategy and also know how the game is played ...and you will have learned about team positions and how to decide your next shot etc.
If you live within a reasonable traveling distance to our club and wish to enrol or perhaps require further information, please contact Club Reception on 0121 464 0784...who will make all the necessary arrangements for you.
HOW TO JOIN THE JUNIOR'S - AND HOW TO GET STARTED
We have plans to double our membership on an urgent basis and we are looking to immediately take on about twenty five players -from the age of 7/8 years old and upwards. Therefore, we will extend a most cordial welcome to youngsters, whether they are complete beginners or whether they have some experience, and simply wish to join the section to re-start their bowls -and to enjoy some more bowls with the junior's. Rest assured, we have just the individual courses for you, whatever your ability or experience. Please! Why don't you pick up the telephone now and contact us as above or just give us a ring (0121 464 0784)...or send us an Email as above. Please note that, at the moment, we are so keen to obtain your services, that we do not make any charge for coaching at all. The only money you need to pay for individual 'expert tuition' is a total of £1..and this is purely to cover the cost of the rink for your two hour "Introduction to Bowls" session, but, as stated above, bear in mind that this also includes the provision of both bowls and shoes If, after your two hours, you decide you like both us and the game of bowls (and everyone very much seem to when they try it), we recommend that you consider enrolling on a fully structured coaching course of twelve sessions for the total cost of £1 per session (payable at your next /first session proper) -after which you will be ready for anything! Also, think about bringing a friend, and please...try and take a few more minutes to have a look at the rest of this web site...how we started, our competitions, future plans and newsletters etc.
At December, 2003, we have 24 junior's and we are very proud of all of them -and they are warmly welcomed wherever they go. They are a precious resource, valued and respected accordingly. Parents and coaches alike have noticed that apart from enjoying their bowls so much, they are also growing up in a responsible way, with a much improved and rounded outlook on life...which all are agreed, is down to the good influences which comes from playing the game of bowls. One telephone call and you could be enjoying all of this. Why not put two hours aside and give it a try.
