10th May, 1961. Dear Reverend Father,

DUNFERMLINE NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE 1961,

I should be glad if you would kindly replace the preliminary poster with
the one enclosed, which gives full information about the Dunfermline Pilgrimage.
In addition, it would be appreciated if you would bring the details in the
poster to the notice of the Faithful at all Messes on Sunday next, and on
subsequent Sundays prior to the Pilgrimage.             ;

1. _____ _________ Adult and ________ Juvenile tickets are enclosed,

2.  Please give me an estimate of the number of any buses that may be expected from your parish.  The Police demand this information.  By Police request, each 'bus should carry on the front a label marked “DUNFERMLINE PILGRIMAGE". Labels will be sent on receipt of a note of the number of 'buses.

3. Bus drivers must be informed that a one-way traffic system operates in Dunfermline,  As a result of representation to the Dunfermline Police it has_ been agreed to debus pilgrims near to the starting –point of the procession but 'buses will then park as usual in the showground.  Where 'buses intend leaving early, if this information is given by the driver to the Police at the parking ground, the Police will try to arrange the parking of the buses to make their departure easier.

4. The Right Reverend Monsignor Delaney will be pleased to offer his hospitality to the Clergy after the Mass,  If you, or any of your assistant Priests intend accepting this invitation, would you please advise me at your earliest convenience, so that arrangements can be made?

Yours sincerely,

JOHN BOYLE
