Lesnes Abbey is located on the A206 within easy reach from Abbey Wood Station. Connex operate a regular train service to Abbey Wood from Charing Cross, Dartford and the Medway Towns. The hill behind the remains of the abbey contains a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) where many types of fossil shells and sharks' teeth from the Tertiary may be found. Permission MUST be obtained from the Rangers Office before you start to dig.
