The cemetary is located 100 yards north of West Norwood station on Norwood Road. Parking is severely limited at the site - the best place being at the side of the road by the superintendant's office, immediately inside the main entrance. Dr Mantell's grave is only a short 2-300 yards walk from here. Take the right fork where the roadway divides and then the first turning left - signposted for the Crematorium. The monument is immediately on the right hand side.

The side of the monument shows Dr Mantell's details. The epitaph however is unfortunately much obscured by lichen. The front of the monument commemorates Dr Mantell's daughter Hannah, who tragically died of an infection in 1839, aged only 17.
