Stoney and Meatloaf's first single from the album "What You See Is What You Get" appeared for a number of weeks on the US Billboard and CashBox Singles Charts.
The single was also on the Billboard Soul/R&B Singles Chart for three weeks. According to his autobiography Meat claims that when the single was first released the fact that they were white artists was not generally known and this enabled it to hit the Soul Charts due to black radio station airplay. It would certainly appear that this fact was not emphasised by Motown because adverts in the trade press had both Stoney and Meat Loaf in silhouette only. Meat also points out that once the "secret" was out then the black radio stations stopped playing the record and it abruptly fell out of the Billboard Soul Singles Chart.
