And well they might! For in the secrecy of night these ladies |
| come alive! | |||

They share so very much together Thru winter's sna and sweet simmer's heather, The nicht they'll have a richt guid blether Cos we were there, - the storytellers. To you, they may be, still, cold stone, But we can bring back flesh and bone Be it joyful, sad or gory To young an auld we'll bring the story |
| And maybe even a sang. | |||
They see things, mortals cannae see The dawnin' light, o' every day The dark's fantastic galaxy. They hear the birdies night and day All the elementals play, and together |
| They weather, every storm. | |||
Mary and Persephone – Aye, There's lots more I could share Their sweet laughter and the singing As they come each other's hair |
What a magic night we've had, Mary, Persephone and me! |
| But they now stand there, | |||
| Sparkling | |||
Frosty diamonds |
| On their stone, | |||
| While I, | |||
| Well, | |||
| I'm just mortal, | |||
And I'm frozen, |
| To the bone! | |||
