It is one of the first independent UK drama productions to be shot on the state of the art Panasonic DVCPro HD Varicam. The results were stunning. The camera dealt effortlessly with a variety of lighting effects and conditions ranging from full sunlight to an interior lit with just two candles.

The film's design set out to reflect a Pre-Raphaelite influenced look and sensibility, and HD perfectly captured the intense colours, depth and fine detail which were essential elements in this vision.

Post production on the cutting edge iQ system at Quantel enabled editor Torquil Dearden to work with full resolution images of startling quality.

With a rich emotive music score composed by Rochford Dyer, and audio post completed at The Audio Suite, Birmingham, A Soldier's Tunic returned to Quantel for its grade and title sequence.

The intense and vibrant look that was achieved can be seen here in some of the stills from the finished film.
