My stay through Oct - Dec  proved one of the most enlightening and harrowing of my visits to date.

It proved a real eye-opener watching the kids coping with the declining weather conditions.

I saw previously considerate kids change into a personality that was needed to survive, or that reflected the unspeakable abuse that they had suffered since my last visit

I witnessed the aftermath of police-beatings, rape and torture. I dealt with injuries and ailments that should have received immediate hospitalisation. I saw the apathy of the authorities and the bureaucracy that inhibits aid.

Posing for the camera

I have a daily diary of this trip. My camera broke but I did manage to save a few photographs ...

I have prepared just a few examples of the streetchild's life to serve the understandable need for information on the plight of the kids.

Not only did I deal with the kids and the authorities but also some of the well-meaning local people that try and help the kids - I spent a lot of time trying to get an insight into their aims, methods and objectives, which deserves mention on this site.
