Stroud Rambling Club has a partnership with D.AV. Reutlingen Section which has been active for some years now with exchange visits for walks & culture held every 2 years. We have been walking as guests  in The Swabian Alps, and hut to hut mountain walks in Austria.

From 7^th – 14^th August we will be entertaining our German friends who are coming for a return visit, staying at the Premier Inn next to the Old Nelson.    Please make a note of this week in your diary, as we hope many of you will be joining them on our walks and visits.  The week starts with a local walk led by Adrian, followed by walks near Weston-Super-Mare on the Monday led by Paul and Mavis..  Tuesday we go to the Malverns, with a possible visit to Gloucester docks during the return journey.  On Wednesday there will be a visit to the National Museum of Wales near Cardiff.  Thursday we plan to visit Avebury with walks led by Paul and myself.  We finish the week on Friday with a local figure of eight walk from Painswick led by Vennae, followed by a farewell meal at the Old Nelson.  As we need to reserve seats for this, there will be booking forms for this meal and the visit to Cardiff in the next programme.  It is envisaged we will be going to a country pub for a meal some evenings.
