Holiday at Shanklin, Isle of Wight

I have tried this holiday in 2007 and it is a ‘must’!  The hotel does everything for you from collecting you from the ferry ( Beavis coaches will take you to the ferry from Stroud), en-suite accommodation, and transport to and from the walks, including pub lunch on walk days, plus superb local leaders who tailor the walks to the group, all for a bargain price. The leaders are expert on the countryside of the island, its history and wildlife. Also if two or more really cannot manage to face the afternoon section of the walk, they will come out and pick you up! I will probably lead a short walk on the day of arrival and possibly also on the last day depending on the ferry times but the hotel provides the rest.  Shanklin beach is close to the hotel, as is the island railway and bus service to make the most of a free day. To gain an idea as to how popular this hotel’s walking holidays are, as of today (mid  February 2008) several weeks are already booked for 2009!  I am looking forward to leading another club holiday that I know you will enjoy.
