Walking > Canterbury in the Snow (Dec 2005)
Just after Christmas, a day and night of non-stop snow brought most of Kent to it's knees. Whilst most other countries would be well-equipped for a few inches of the white stuff, motorways and rail networks here were brought to a standstill. Fortunately travelling by foot was still easy enough (except for some fools that were still slipping and tripping down the icy high street in their high-heeled boots....) and a short walk around the fields to the west of Canterbury was in order.

Despite setting off at 11am, there were only a couple of dog walkers and families out - which meant pristine snow scenes could be had. Not sure of the exact route, but headed west along the river from Westgate Towers; under a railway bridge and the A2; then crossed the Stour; dropped into the back of Thannington; and back to Canterbury along the A28.
