Beer Festivals > Cherry Tree (April 2004)

The smaller of the two beer fests the Cherry Tree (Oxfordshire) holds each year, with 18 casks racked up. Some very good quality ales, made especially so because there was a very good water-cooling system keeping them nicely below room temperature (and nothing to do with me helping to choose the beers for it :-) )

We arrived at 3.30pm on Friday, after an interesting 45 minute 1 mile jaunt across the countryside involving stiles, fences, cobbles, reams of steps to cross the A34 and a partially submerged field (which may be considered a challenge by those with crutches....sorry Dan!) and made the somewhat fatal decision of going for pints instead of halves. After a regular 6X and a standard Broadside, we worked out whereabouts in the pub the festival was, and moved onto the proper beers...of which I didn't actually drink many, as I ended up behind the somewhat crazily bar every night...doh!
