Beer Festivals > Great British Beer Festival (August 2004)

The Olympia GBBF ran for 5 whole days to the public this year, on 3-7th August, but due to other commitments we only made it to two of them - the Tuesday and Wednesday. 

There were over 450 ales to choose from, but we only managed to try about 15 each - doubly poor was managing to lose the first days notes, so not too many reviews this year unfortunately. Was a really good couple of days though, and there are some photos over in the Gallery

Coniston Cumbria Bluebird Bitter 3.6%

Amber but very cloy and musty with a sharp tang

Wizard Warks Mother in Law 4.0% Very malty, but pleasantness develops down the pint 5/10
Moor Somerset Merlin's Magic 4.3% Dark gold, with a dry, strong flavour. Slightly acidic aftertaste 6/10
Milton Cambs Neptune 3.8% Quite sharp aftertaste - hoppy 5/10
Titanic Staffs Olympic 4.3% Pale, lively, with a refreshing taste. nice level of hops which gives an inoffensive aftertaste 8/10
Beartown Cheshire Bear Ass 4.0% A good blend of maltiness and hoppiness 7/10
Gritty McDuffs USA Pub Style Ale   American taste, a fine flavour which goes down well 7/10
