Counties Dachshund Association has obtained a supply of this 56 page Handbook and it's available for £3.50 (+ 30p pp, or carriage free if you order 5 or more copies).

It has been extremely well written by Lyn Fleet and Helen Roberts, both members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (whose members use kind, fair and effective methods).

The authors have a particular interest in, and understanding of, puppy development. This is a short, but critical, time in a dog's life. Many behaviour problems that arise later on in a dog's life could have been prevented by a careful, structured and "busy" upbringing.

The information contained in this booklet comes from years of experience living with their own dogs, and helping clients cope with that happy but fraught time that is their dog's childhood. They hope that, by reading this booklet and putting the advice into practice, they can help you give your puppy the best start in life. Also read our web site for in depth help and advice about puppies and dogs.
