Wigan Whispers
British champion Gary Catt endured a terrible weekend, with a heat seizure,
then being put to the back of his second one, along with Metcalfe, for being
too fast on the rolling lap. Eighth in the first final and looking good for
second in the next, until bad luck struck again.Oliver Millroy in JICA and
Stuart Jeffs in Formula A were both excluded from timed qualifying for a missing
clutch guard and bodywork irregularities respectively.Provisional MSA Cadet
Champion Anthony Moss was excluded from the meeting for an illegal engine.
Officials were well aware of rumours of trick electrics in Formula A, and
two races were stopped after the rolling laps for checks.A new regulation
came into force at the weekend. When the registrations in F.A, ICA or JICA
are under 30, the results of Heat 1 determines the grid for Heat 2.New sponsor
Renault brought their impressive race centre along to the meeting.
Next MSA
round is at PF International on 4th April.
