Larkhall MSA/ABkC Round 6: 12.9.04

NEWSLETTER

Rain brought joy to Craig Copeland and Chris Lamare, now British Junior Champion and ABkC ICA National champion
respectively. The form book was turned on its head with the afternoon’s wet weather, along with some woes
for the other championship contenders.

Thank you to all competitors and sponsors, we’re looking forward to being back, and seeing all of you back in 2005.
Remember the prize giving will be at the NEC, Autosport International Racing Car Show, on Saturday 15th January.

BTE Lawline/Renault MSA British Kart Championship

Qualifying: Gary Catt 36.92, Jeremy Metcalfe, David Gregory, Jason Parrott, James Bean.

Heat 1: Metcalfe, Gregory, Catt.

Heat 2: Metcalfe, Gregory, Jamie Croxford.

Final 1: Jason Edgar hit the front early, but Chris Rogers was flying through from last and took over
the lead with a couple of laps to go. Edgar then lost second to Parrott. Metcalfe’s bumper broke.

Results Final 1: Rogers, Parrott, Edgar, Croxford, Gregory.

Final 2: Gregory cruised to victory, sealing second in the series. Catt was excluded for taking off Parrott, who had also been involved in an incident with Metcalfe. The latter reached fifth.

Results Final 2: Gregory, Edgar, Rogers, James Wright, Metcalfe

BTE Lawline/Renault MSA British Junior Kart Champs

Qualifying: Stefan di Resta 38.47, Lee Bell, Adam Batch, James Bradshaw, Oliver Millroy.

Heat 1: Adam Christodoulou, Richard Singleton, Batch.

Heat 2: Christo, Max Chilton, di Resta.

Final 1: With Christo’s wet kart not performing, Craig Copeland led, shadowed by Batch. Come the last lap, Batch sliced up the inside, Copeland gave way knowing second was enough to take the title. Christo salvaged sixth.

Results Final 1: Batch, Copeland(pictured right. image courtesy www.kartpix.net), Matt Bell, Lee Bell, Millroy.

Final 2: With Copeland sitting this one out, the way was clear for Matt Bell to take his first JICA win, after a hard fight with Batch. Christo recovered to third, and became Junior vice-champion.

Results Final 2: Matt Bell, Batch, Christo, Millroy, di Resta.

BTE Lawline/Renault ABkC ICA

Qualifying: Freddie Martin-Dye 38.6, Charlie Bruce-White, Danny Cruttenden, Jody Whitmore, Tom Armour.

Heat 1: Cruttenden, Martin-Dye, Jason Moore.

Heat 2: Martin-Dye, Cruttenden, Tom Brown.

Final 1: Riki Christodoulou was put on the back foot after being black flagged in a heat. And he had a similar penalty again. Martin-Dye converted pole into a win, from Chris Lamare. Points leader Cruttenden had a title-losing exhaust
breakage following contact and had to pit.

Results Final 1: Martin-Dye, Lamare, Brown, Bruce-White, Jonathan Miller.

Final 2: Martin-Dye was more concerned about staying ahead of Cruttenden and he drifted back to fifth. But Lamare’s win was enough to give him the title by a point. Christo was rejuvenated, slicing through to third, but still five seconds down on Bruce-White.

Results Final 2: Lamare, Bruce-White, Christo, Raymie Eastwood, Martin-Dye.

ABkC 100 National

Heat winners: James Smith, Justin Edgar, Paul Munn.

ABkC Formula Cadet

Heat winners: Jordan Lennox-Lamb, James Godbehere x 2.

Results: Joyner, Godbehere, Lennox-Lamb, Jack Harvey, Nicholas Cristofaro.
