Shenington ABkC Rotax Round 2: 25.4.04

NEWSLETTER

Another huge entry of 213 karts descended on the Banbury circuit for three days, enjoying the finest of weather throughout. Adam Christodoulou dominated both MiniMax and Rotax Junior, leaving his rivals with no answer. After blowing up his prime engine in practice, Michael Simpson had to give best to John Boyd in Max.

However the poor driving standards were deplored by the Clerks of the Course, leading to a special briefing before the finals to lay the law down.

Shenington Shenanigans

Technical Commissioner Paul Klaassen reacted to grumbles from fathers about Christodoulou’s pace by asking both him and Matt Truelove to change the electrics on the grid whilst the heat was held back. Christo promptly won from grid 14. The drivers picked at random a coil, sensor and loom from five sets offered by the organisers.

Best wishes for speedy recoveries to Brett Parris and Stevie Taddei who were both forced to stop racing after incidents.

Nigel Moore, Conor Stephenson and Lee Jenner were all fined £50 for driving standard incidents.
Moore unsuccessfully appealed to the Stewards, and may appeal further.
