Larkhall TKM ABkC Round 3: 23.5.04

NEWSLETTER

Warm sunshine and clear skies helped give this Larkhall round an extra sparkle and made for some superbly close racing.

New lap records in every class underlined the extra speed of the circuit following resurfacing and lowering of kerbs which got a universal vote of support.

The championship leaders in the Extremes failed to impress in Scotland, allowing James Nash to vault to the top of the senior table when Tom Evans had a disappointing event. Chris Palmer held onto the series lead in Juniors. But in Inters, Joe Osborne consolidated his points lead with another win.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula Jnr. TKM

Heat winners: David Brown x 2, Josh Mulholland, Thomas Davis, Ayrton Pankiw.

B Final: Mulholland, Jake Packun, Marcus Allen, James Duxbury, Linda Rose.

A Final: With local aces Ian Munro and David Brown line astern on the front rows, Thomas Davis had to work hard. When Brown and Davis’ karts kissed, Harry Tincknell took full advantage to take a maiden win, Brown down to 6th with Davis holding onto 2nd. Daniel Graham and James Tucker sped up from mid grid, whilst Packun made 7th from the B.

Results: Tincknell, Davis, Graham, Tucker, Palmer, Brown.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Extreme

Heat winners: Micky Higham, Michael Doyle, Adam Constable, Ryan Cole, Adam Rodgers.

B Final: Tom Evans, Alex Bowen, Paul Ringer, Ian Blake, Tom Roche.

A Final: Working together Rodgers and Cole reeled in and overtook polesitter and early leader Lee Mabbett for a close one-two finish. Doyle’s 3rd hoisted him to that place in the points, behind Ben Cruttenden who was 7th on the day. Once again an outstandingly close race.

Results: Rodgers, Cole, Doyle, Michael Ryall, Nash, Higham.

Tal-Ko ABkC Formula TKM Intermediate

Heat winners: Matt Harman, Will Bullard, Richard Bond.

A Final: After a race long battle up front, a penultimate lap bump between Richard Bond and Joe Osborne nearly left both out of the top points. But in a bizarre incident a push from behind by fast closing William Reed kept Osborne’s momentum going for a win. Bullard nipped in for 2nd while Bond dropped to 14th.

Results: Osborne (pictured right.Image courtesy www.kartpix.net), Bullard, Reed, Steven Bartlett, Zak Roseman, Robert Carter.

Tal-Ko Formula TKM 4-stroke

Heat winners: Chris Walsh, Sam Dimelow, Anjum Sayed.

A Final: Dimelow was out-foxed at the start, but worked back up into the lead, only for his chain to break. Walsh inherited the win, although Sayed behind looked quicker on what was for him an outstanding day’s racing, including a lap record. Jay Bridger advanced three places for 3rd.

Results: Walsh, Sayed, Bridger, Chris Needham, Brendan Carton, Carl Willoughby.

Tal-Ko Formula Junior TKM 4-stroke

Heat winners: Alex Shackleton, Matthew Pritchard, Michael Cox.
