Dojo etiquette
1. When entering the Dojo, face the Shrine, bow and say Osu.
2. When late as above and kneel down and wait for your Instructor to give you permission to join the class, when given permission to join bow and say Osu and join in.
3. When you make your lines at the beginning kneel down in grade order and take your lines from the highest grade.
4. You get the commands:
5. Mokuso, close your eyes.
6. Mokuso yame, open your eyes.
7. Sensei ni rei, bow to teacher
8. Sempai ni rei, bow to senior grade
9. Otagani rei, bow to everyone
10. When bowing to Sensei, Sempai and everyone, face to Shrine.
11. Class finishes the same as above.
Karate ni sente nashi
There is no first attack in Karate

Karate begins and ends in respect.
