2 Many DJs

By Phil Thornton

Now that Michael Caine has decided that he’s an expert on so-called ‘chill out’ music and has gone as far as selecting some of his all time fave ‘chill out’ tunes for the listening pleasure of the general public (or atleast that part of the populace who buy music purely because of the presence of a movie star on the cover - and that’s quite a large slice of the populace I grant you), Swine would like to see the following veteran actors release their own compilations:

Brian Blessed’s Belgian New Beat Blast Off - he’s big, he’s loud, he climbs mountains and unbeknown to most people, Big Bri is also a massive new beat fan and once DJ’d at legendary club Boccaccio. Says the Blessed one Me and Fat Ronnie were like that (crosses fingers dramatically) once upon a time but y’know he went one way and I ended up on the top of Everest reciting Hamlet to Sherpas. It was fun while it lasted but now I’m back on the scene dig!”

Dame Judy Dench’s Space Rock Wig Out she may one of Britain’s most respected actresses but once upon a time, ‘Jellyhead’ Jude, as she was known, was a nude go go dancer who appeared live on stage with bands such as Gong and even co-produced a few tracks for Hawkwind before her acting career took off. Judy prefers not to remember those years, complaining to Swine,

‘I wish people would just leave all that stuff in the past, however, if there’s a few bob in it for me, then I’m all fucking ears you mugs!’

Sir Anthony Hopkins Welsh Psyche Trance Trip over 4 volumes, Hoppo The Druid as he once called himself in the 60s, explores the esoteric world of Welsh language psychedelic folk and progressive trance. With the help of Super Furry Animals, Professor Griff Rhys Jones, ‘Hannibal The Cannibal’ rubber stamps his approval to a load of random tunes bought from a crate in a Betws-y-Coed second handy. Says Sir Ant,

‘I had fuck all to do with it really. Some cunt just phoned me up and asked me to put my name to some bunch of shite and promised me a few bob in royalties so I said OK boyo.’
