Footage for an Orkney video was first shot by the producer during 1994 and 1995. It was recorded onto VHS tape, a format which is inferior to modern digital video.
It wasn't until the year 2000 however that the footage was edited and the first version of 'An Orkney Odyssey' was produced.
The film was sold locally during 2001 but due to the inferior format used and the resulting poor quality of the image the resulting film was withdrawn and a 'New Version' produced using up to date DV technology.
'An Orkney Odyssey (New Edition)' took almost one and half years to complete and has the addition of a narrative, which the original analogue version lacked.
