All the clips here are taken directly from An Orkney Odyssey (New Edition). The sound and picture quality of the clips is greatly reduced to enable them to be downloaded using a 56k modem.
The VHS version was filmed and edited entirely in digital video (DV) format and the quality is far superior to these download clips.
All VHS versions of the film are in PAL format and recorded onto VHS tape directly from a digital video (DV) master, resulting in superior quality to that of VHS to VHS copying.
A CD version is also available in MPEG 1 format. This is designed to play on computers supporting the Windows format, however the reproduction quality of MPEG 1 does not match that of VHS video. The CD however should play on all Windows computers using the Microsoft Windows Media Player.
