On our workshop page we will keep you informed of new products we are working on and also provide some modelling ideas for you to work with. |

Workbench |
We've just finished off the earth work range and are now building some prototypes for new models. These include craters or shell holes, wall sections and trees. The last one is the trickiest as its getting the look right that turns a blob into a credible tree. Although there are plenty of good trees on the market we think they suffer from two main problems. They damage easily and most are not stable on the base they come with. Anyway keep watching this space for 2007. |

| Bespoke Work | ||
We have been asked to build some bespoke terrain in the form earth works for the English Civil War period. The pieces included straight sections, corners and gun positions with gabions. Standard enough you may say but we created a look suitable for the seventeenth century and littered the ground with lots of tools and other rubbish, but more importantly the terrain was designed to accommodate the customer's figure base sizes and the attacking bases will stand on the sloped edges. The other main advantage of bespoke terrain is that you are not limited by the constraints of moulding. This means greater detail with the ability to have holes in things. This feature would normally result in the model being trapped in the mould and hence be impossible to achieve. If you have terrain requirements that aren't met by current manufacturers perhaps we can help. Contact us to discuss your ideas and we will provide a quote for time and materials. It's not as expensive as you may think. |

Modelling Ideas |
||
The main idea of manufactured and painted terrain is so that you can concentrate on the time consuming business of getting the figures on the table. However should you feel the urge to have a go yourself, we thought enhancing some our terrain might be a compromise approach. Although we consider our terrain to be fantastic in its packaged form there are things you could do to it to make it even better, effects we can't achieve in the moulding process. |
