John is one of the founder members of this band, and is our organiser. Started his melodeon playing career in the back room of the Cross Keys at Epperstone, where he accompanied the drunken rantings of the now defunct Calverton Morris Men. These early beginnings are reflected in a lot of the music he plays with a lot of traditional Morris dance tunes. Family ties in the North east have influenced his love of Geordie music and the Northumbrian bagpipes(which after 10 years of trying,he still cannot play).
His hidden talents are that he can knock out a fine tune on the penny whistle;turn his hand (or foot)to some mean Morris dancing, and whilst doing all this, knock you up a kitchen cupboard, and since getting his new "posh" melodeon he has even learnt a new tune.
Should you still be interested in having such talent at your function, then he is the man to contact!
