Saturday 26th April    Vics v Scorer(s):
The season has closed for the Reserves

I would like to thank all the players that have represented the Reserves this year in what I think has been a fantastic opening season.

A few facts:

We have played 33 players, 14 of these have also been involed with the 1st team,
Jack Heaton has played in all 27 games, Jordan Marson and Matt Dean have worn a Vics shirt on each of these dates
11 players have played in more than 20 games
We have played 4 16year olds, Matt Dean, Sam Lloyd, Tom WIlson and Adam WIlliams
The oldest and youngest player both have the initials ALW, the oldest being 2.739 * older than the youngest at 16 years and 2 days (no prize for working this one out)
Most goals scored by Mark Dale with a tally of 14 and a strike rate of 0.6087 just piping Adam Walton who has a strike rate of 0.6

Thanks All

Saturday 26th April    Vics 4 v Winnington Reserves 1 Scorer(s): Mark Dale 4
Final game of season away to Winnington, again the pitch was bobbley.  While the match was not a classic we did perform well and dominated the game from kick off.  All areas of the pitch belonged to us today, the back 4 were very solid, midfield owned the pitch and the presence of Adam Walton linked the midfield to Mark Dale.  It was this pairing that let Mark score his 1st of the day, the second and third were again scored by Mark D following interplay from Adam and Jordan M.
Second half Winnington picked up there game but it was to late have much impact and despite them scoring from a well delivered free kick we continued to look the stronger team and added a fourth again from Mark Dale.

Managers Comments: A strong performance through the middle today, Jack H and Dom not putting a foot wrong, Stew Walker running midfield and plugging the exposure from last week and Adam Walton linking the midfield to Mark Dale.  Mark has to be worth a mention, 4 goals and much more effort, this is your new standard. These four could all have been worthy of the MOM but Adam Walton selected as it changed our options on what we had to offer

Vics team - Dan Lloyd, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton, Dom Whithead, Patrick Anderson, Jordan Marson, Sew Walker, Matt Carr, Rob Jones, Mark Dale, Adam Walton, Matt Dean, Adam Nichols, Sean Marsh
MOM - Adam Walton

Saturday 19th April    Vics 4 v Winnington Res 0 Scorer(s): Jonny Haslam 2, Tom Wilson, Sam Lloyd
Today was youth policy day and we started 3 16 year olds the youngest at 16 years and 2 days and even more impressive all bar 3 of the starting team could have played as under 18s for this season
The team started with confidence and played some neat football stretching Winnington, it was one of the foward surges that resulted in a free kick for Tarporley just outside the box.  This was taken by Jonny Haslam and he notched his firts of the season.  The tallyshould have been added to in the first half wih the closest being the rebound from the bar from a Soulman strike and some good fortune at the oposite end as Winnington hit the post.  Half time 1-0 up
Second half we were playing against the breeze and this levelle the game, the Winnington side who had hit form in the tail end of the season began showing a dominance in midfield and we were struggling to break them down while having to deal with a lot more at the back.  The break did come when a great run from Jonny Haslam set Tom Wilson away who had to be strong dealing with some pushing and netting his first of the season.  This second goal generated us more space and Sam Lloyd added a third and Jonny Haslam his second to give a final score 4-0 in favour of the Vics
Managers Coments: Excellent performance from the young trio all playing above their years, always nice to keep a clean sheet and great to be back to winning ways

Vics team - Chris Jones, Adam Nichols, Jack Heaton, Adam Williams, Patrick Anderson, Matt Dean, Matt Carr, Sam Lloyd, Jonny Haslam, Jordan Marson, Tom Wilson, Mark Dale, Sean Marsh, Dom Whitead,
 MOM - Jonny Haslam

Saturday 12th April    Vics 1 v Cuddington 1 Scorer(s): Mark Dale
For the second time in a week we faced high flying Cuddington.  Again we were in form and created the better of the first half chances.  In fairness these were few and far between for both sides with the game being competed mostly in the middle of the pitch, half time 0-0
Five minutes in to the second half Tarporey broke the deadlock when Mark Dale completed a great Rob Jones run.  We had the opportunity to increase this lead but fluffed it and paid the price in the dying minutes when a reckless challenge gave Cuddington a free kick in a dangerous area. A poor challenge at the free kick saw a goal sneak in at the far post and a final score of 1-1

Managers Comments: Another good performance but a huge disappointment not to have taken all 3 points.  Notable performance today from Jack Heaton and Dom Whitehead at the back and Stew Walker and Matt Carr in midfield

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton, Dom Whitehead, Adam Nichols, Rob Jones, Matt Dean, Matt Carr, Stew Walker, Mark Dale, Jonny Haslam, Stuart Robinson, Sean Marsh, Sam Lloyd
MOM - Dom Whitehead, Stew Walker

Wednesday 9th April   Vics 0 v Cuddinton 2 Scorer(s):
Tarporley picked up  where they left off from the Bentley game and dominated from the off.  The midfield of Matt C and Matt Dean were winning all the battles and playing great balls for the forwards.  Wide players exploiting any gaps and defence stallng all the Cuddington strike force.   There looked to be only one winner from this game but that run of bad luck continued a shot from Cuddington from outside the aea took a slight dflection and fund its way into  then Tarporley net.  Repeated attacks from the Vics were denied by last ditch defense or the keeper.  Half time 1-0 to Cuddington
Second half was a repeat performance one way traffic and a dominated half from Tarporley but another long effort found itself in the Tarporley goal final score 2-0 to Cuddington

Managers Comments:  A third great perfrmance on the trot buta again nothing from it.  I have not been involved in such a run of games and not even taken a point before.  Important here we continue to play in the right way and rsults will come.

Vics team - Chris Jones, Patrick Anderson, JAck Heaton, Dom Whitehead, Rob Sinnott, Rob Jones, MAtt Dean, Matt Carr, Alley Taylor, Mark Dale, Jordan Marson, Stuart Robinson, Sean Marsh, Dan Lloyd
MOM - Rob Sinnott

Saturday 5th April    Vics 1 v Bentley 2 Scorer(s): Mark Dale
Bentley currently top the table and have narrowly bat us on the previous 2 occasions. Tarporley started very confidently and were playing great football. Outplaying Bentley in all departments a great through ball from Rob Sinnot was pounced on by Mark Dale who out paced the last defender and netted in style.  While the great football carried through from last week so did the bad luck, Bentley were awarded a penalty for hand ball which was finished very well.  A slack pass from midfield and a lucky strike saw us go 2-1 down.  Vics were not out of this one and Sean Marsh did net but ruled offside again an injustice and the bar also saved Bentley from a Stew Walker corner.
Second half was played in the same vane with Chris Jones in Tarporley goal not having to make a save but picked up all the bits well.  Great performances right across the back 4 and the 5 in midfield again worked well, near misses from Stew, efforts from Sam Lloyd, Mark Dale, Rob Jones couldn't break the Bentley defense.

Managers Comments:  For the second week in a row we have performed the best of the teams on the pitch but come aay with nothing.  The comfort from this is that we are doing it right and at some time it will definately pay off

Vics team - Chris Jones, Adam Nichols, Jack Heaton, Dom Whitehead, Rob Sinnott, Mat Dean, Matt Car, Stew Walker (capt), Rob Jones, Sean Marsh, Mark Dale, Sam Lloyd, Simeon Aidley, Dan Lloyd
MOM - Jack Heaton, Mark Dale

Saturday 29th March    Vics 1 v Sandbach United Eagles 4 Scorer(s): Matt Carr
A team we have struggled with but outplayed, but today would be no different.  Vics started well with neither team going anywhere in the opening 10 minutes.  This was our first peace of bad luck on the day we lost the keeper with a knee injury following a kick into the ground, the second piece of bad luck being a goal awarded against us that never crossed the line.  In any half this should be enough but today was definitely one of those days, we lost Dom Whithead through injury before half time.  Summary of 1st half however was one that Vics dominated and were denied an equalizer by a good save and a number of last ditch tackles.
2nd half Vics again dominated but were denied the most obvious penalty I have seen in some time, several half chances and one very good opportunity was missed before the outstretched leg of Jack H steered the ball into his own net.  Matt Carr struck for the Vics giving us hope but a well struck shot put Sandbach back on track, the game was sown up as we pushed forward and allowed the Sandbach goal machine in at the back side of our defenders

Managers Comments.  With the number of things going against us today, the odds were defiantely stacked in Sandbach favour.  However on the positve side I believe this was our best performance in quite a few weeks, we battled well, created oppertunities and played some good football.  If we reproduce this standard on a consistant basis then we will certainly win more than we will loose, well done boys and a big thanks to Stuart Robinson for his efforts in the sticks

Vics team - Chris Jones, Adam Nichols, Patrick Anderson, Jack Heaton (capt) Dom Whithead, Johny Haslam, Matt Dean Matt Carr, Rob Jones, Jordan Marson, Sean Marsh, Stuart Robinson, Rob Sinnott, Tom Wilson    MOM - Stuart Robinson, an inspired performance when called on to replace the injured keeper

Saturday 22nd March    Vics 0 v Congleton Athletic 4 Scorer(s): Junior shield Semi final
Vics had a strong squad available for this game and with difficult conditions competed well in the first half and were unlucky to go in 1-0 down
Second half saw the Vics come out of the starting blocks well and completely dominating the game, a few chancs cam and went before we were dealt a bitter blow when we conceded from a simple error.  Thius turned the game and in the last 20 minutes Congleton played with more confidence and Tarporley knew the game had gone final score 4-0 in favour of  Congleton

Vics team - Chris Jones. Dom Whitehead, Patrick Anderson, Jack Heaton, Luke Heritage, Andy Rogers, Matt Carr, Stew Walker, Aaron Brown, Henry Buckley, Jordan Marson, Matt Dean, Mark Dale, Sean Marsh, Simeon Aidley, Adam Nichols
MOM - Jack Heaton

Saturday 15th March    Vics 3 v Wheatsheaf Wanderers 5 Scorer(s): Adam Walton, Rob Jones, Matt Carr
Vics were gifted a goal in the opening minutes but things went downhill from here, a collection of errors and misses saw us 3-1 down at half time.
Second half we were more determined and started to look better, then another error and we were 4-1 down.  Finally we did get things together and goals from Matt Carr and Rob Jones gave us a chance, but this being one of those days we conceded a 5th final score 3-5 in favor of Wheatsheaf.

Manager comments.  A performance we cant afford to repeat

Vics team - Chris Jones. Patrick Anderson, Jack Heaton, Adam Nichols, Stuart Robinson, Matt Dean, Matt Carr, Stew Walker, ob Jones, Adam Walton, Mark Dale, Sam Lloyd, Sean Marsh, Jon Haslam
MOM - Non Awarded

Saturday 8th March    Vics 2 v Cuddington 3 Scorer(s): Jordan Marson, Sam LLoyd
Vics started very slowly today giving a strong Cuddington side to much respect.  The first 20 minutes saw us 2 down and a long way from the game.  However confidence began to grow and by half time the score could have been level but found ourselves trailing 2-0.
Second half we started better but were dealt a bitter blow from a combined goal kick keeping error and were then 3 down.  Tarporley did fight back and defense stood strong with the keeper making limited saves.  The Cuddington goal line looked to be secure as ball after ball rolled along it, hit the bar or spin wide. Finally Jordan M steered a Sean Marsh shot over the line.  Tarporley now had much more belief and were finishing the stronger team, a second was added from Sam Lloyd with a minute left on the clock.

Managers Comments:  A poor start but increased performance as the game went on, a complete opposite to last weeks game.  Vics should take some confidence from  this game, we are at the same level and would expect some points in the counter games.

Vics team - Chris Jones, Adam Nichols, Patrick Anderson, Jack Heaton, Domonic Whitehead, Sean Marsh, Matt Carr, Stew Walker (Capt), Danny Lloyd, Jordan Marson, Mark Dale, Sam Lloyd, Stuart Robinson, Simeon Aideley
MOM - Patrick Anderson, Just edging Jack Heaton

Saturday 1st  March    Vics 3 v Sandbach Utd Eagles 3 Scorer(s): Danny Lloyd, Matt Carr, Sam Lloyd
Vics started sharply and were playing a crisp passing game and had Sandbach chasing shadows.  It was Dan Lloyd who pounced first following a mix up between the Sandbach keeper and the centre half giving us a very early lead.  This was further increased by a great free kick from Matt Carr.  At this stage Matt C was running the midfield and the game looked well beyond Sandbach.  However this was not Sandbach plan and we were given a warning from a near post flick on.  Sandbach inspired by this began putting there game together and following a series of mistakes by just about everyone of our players and 10 minutes we found our selves 3-2 down.  The score remained at this till half time.
Second half we had the hill to contend with and while slightly better in the first 10 minutes we didn't look convincing.  As the clock ticked on we failed to break down the Sandbach team, young legs in Sam Lloyd and debutant Tom Wilson, inspired us and we began to pick up the game and for the last 15 minutes looked the strongest team.  With about 5 minutes left on the clock a corner was well delivered hitting Sam on the back, and a good claim the ball had crossed the line, but the keeper got a hand to it and pushed it back out for Sam to head home the equaliser.  Final Score 3-3

Managers comments:  25 minutes of the most disappointing football  in the 1st half, but an incredible achievement to grind out a result with such a young squad against all odds in the second half.  Highlights being the performance of the new boys Sam Lloyd and Tom Wilson and again a result with the experience players.

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton (capt), Patrick Anderson, Dom Whitehead, Sean Marsh, Matt Carr, Stuart Robinson, Danny Lloyd, Jordan Marson, Mark Dale, Adam Nichols, Sam Lloyd, Tom Wilson
MOM - Jack Heaton, Matt Carr

Saturday 23rd February    Vics 2 v Sandbach Town 0 Scorer(s): Jordan Marson
Not the friendliest of pitches to play on and a steady breeze, this on top of the opposition being only 1 point behind us in second place.  Vics started well but Sandbach showed why they are league top scorers when they broke and caused a few problems with there physical size.  Vics stuck at there task throughout the pitch, marginally edging the 1st half but no rewards
Second half saw Vics playing with the breeze and this gave the edge in our favour, we managed to get a bit more pressure on and this sustained pressure saw a short corner played across the box to the foot of Jordan Marson who opened up the scoring. Similar pressure saw the Sandbach keeper make a mistake this was pounced on by Jordan M to net his second of the day and put the game beyond Sandbach.

Managers comments:  Another good display today, with a number of big plus points, we didnt loose our shape when captain marvel went off injured, we kept a clean sheet, concentrated for full 90 minutes, competed against a physical team on a small pitch.  All in all a good performance.

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton, Patrick Anderson, Dom Whitehead, Sean Marsh, Stew Walker, Matt Carr, Matt Dean, Adam Walton, Jordan Marson, Daz Richards, Adam Nichols, Mark Dale
MOM - Matt Carr and Jordan Marson

Saturday 10th February    Vics 3 v Malpas 5 Scorer(s): Jordan Marson 2, Adam Walton
For the 5th time this season we faced Malpas, however or opposition today looked different. With their 1st team having no games there were no restrictions with the Malpas squad. Our squad had some new blood in it but we were ready to take the challenge.
Malpas played with the slope in their favour and quickly showed they meant business, a combination of a long throw and height was causing us trouble but it was a fortunate Malpas strike that saw them take the lead.  The resilience that Tarporley have showed and we struck back up the slope with Rob Jones being fetched down.  Adam Walton calmly converted to square the score.  A good piece of football gave Malpas the opportunity to go back in front, again we struck back this time with a headed goal from Jordan Marson.  Half time 2-2
Second half it was Tarporley that had the impetus and after 10 minutes good running from Rob Jones caused Malpas problems and  a great low cross found the net, for the first time we were in front.  10 minutes later a double mistake saw Malpas level and us loose our captain through injury.  This let Malpas back into the game, we stopped looking as strong going forward and began to suffer in midfield and at the back. Another error combined with a great strike gave Malpas the lead with 10 minutes left on the clock, a tired unit pushed as hard as they could but were further punished in the last minute

Managers Comments: We solved midfield from last week but suffered at the back today with a collection of simple errors that combined to cost us goals.  On the positive side we competed well against a number of Cheshire league players and on another day could have something from it.  There were some good performances today from Matt Carr, Stew Walker (until he got injured), the back 4 worked hard as did the forwards, success however was not forthcoming.

Vics team - Chris Jones, Adam Nichols, Jack Heaton, Stuart Robinson, Simeon Aidley, Sean Marsh. Stew Walker (capt), Matt Carr, Rob Jones, Adam Walton, Jordan Marson, Dan Lloyd, Paul Gregory, Sam Lloyd
MOM - Rob Jones just out showing Matt Carr

Saturday 2nd February    Vics 1 v Curshaws 2 Scorer(s): Stew Walker 1/4 final AJ cooke
Curshaws were sitting pretty, clear at the top of the Premier league so this was a real test to see where we had progressed to.  Curshaws started strongly playing with the slope in their favour and Vics struggled to clear the lines.  As the game went in we still struggled to make much of the forward component of the game but were reasonably comfortable at the back.  On one of our infrequent breaks the opportunity dropped to Stew Walker who neatly tucked the ball into the net to give us the lead.  Vics held on to this for the rest of the half.
Second half we did progress further up the pitch but were still against some strong opposition. Curshaws managed to breach our defenc after 20 minutes and again 10 minutes later.  Vics then dug deep and created a few oppertunities for ourselves and it was us that finished the match strongest.

Managers Comments: Todays opposition was currently the best this league has to offer but for much of the game we competed, our physical size was probably the biggest disadvantage.  Some terrific performances from Chris Jones in goal, Jack Heaton, Dom Whitehead, Patrick Anderson and Jordan Marson showing how these young guns are stepping up.  First team call ups are getting closer for a number of the lads.

No MOM declared today as it needed to be awarded to 5or 6 players

Vics team - Chris, Jones, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton, Patrick Anderson, Dom Whitehead, Sean Marsh, Stew Walker (capt) , Matt Dean, Jordan Marson, Mark Dale, Adam Walton, Adam Nichols, Tom Oliphant, Danny Lloyd, Stuart Robinson, Paul Gregory
MOM -No MOM declared today as it needed to be awarded to 5or 6 players

Saturday 19th January    Vics 4 v Sandbach Town 1 Scorer(s): Jack Heaton, Stew Walker, Adam Walton, Mark Dale
New pitch today and a full squad to pick from, Vics playing against the slope in the fist half.  The opening 10 minutes was fairly even with the best opportunity going to Sandbach, but we were saved by the bar.  Midfield were competing well and we were having plenty of success on the left and through the middle.  Some of thhe pressure resulted in a corner which was delivered well by Stew W and met by Jack Heaton even better to open the scoring.  Tarporley were now on top and should have increased the lead further but a combination of events led to the loss of Rob Jones.  Vics had to regroup with 10 men uphill and were definitely going to miss Rob J who had been in his best form to date.  The impetus was with Sandbach but it looked as if we would manage to hold the score till half time but were dealt a bitter blow on 43 minutes when Sandbach equalised.
A very constructive talk at half time, showing how the group is maturing triggered a second half performance that any manager would be proud of.  About 10 minutes in a series of crisp passes saw play switch from keeper to wing, a cross field ball and a quality pass to open up Sandbach, with Stew Walker taking full advantage and putting us back in front. With about 30 minutes to go  we introduced new legs and this paid dividends Adam Walton adding a third and Mark Dale a fourth.

Managers comments:  A game that had all the good elements, good quality football, guts, passion and a desire to win.  Man of the match today very difficult, Jack Heaton and Patrick Anderson very strong at the back and we were none to shody in the midfield, Stew Walker and Matt Carr very solid, Matt D causing trouble out wide and the forwards working hard.  Awarded to Patrick Anderson who for me just edged it over Jack and the midfielders.  Well done to all most rewarding game for me to date.

Vics team - Chris Jones, Adam Nichols, Patrick Anderson, Jack Heaton, Dom Whitehead, Rob Jones, Stew Walker (capt), Matt Carr, Matt Dean, Jordan Marson, Sean Marsh, Simeon Aidley, Adam Walton, Mark Dale
MOM - Patrick Anderson, just outshadowing Jack Heaton

Saturday 5th January    Vics 2 v Wheatsheaf Wanderers 1 Scorer(s): Sean Marsh, Mark Dale
Tarporley were rewarded with an early gift when Wheatsheaf failed to pick up Sean Marsh from a well delivered free kick and he promptly headed home.  For the next 5 minutes Wheatsheaf didn't look interested but they did work their way into the game. From a corner Wheatsheaf saw a shot well saved by Chris J but a deflected rebound sneaked into the Tarporley net. Tarporley's normal formation was suffering as Wheatsheaf played very direct football missing midfield in most cases. A switch to 4-4-2 helped a little and in the last 5 minutes of the half we started to get on top
Second half saw us work hard to change our lack lustre first half performance and we began to create chances, it must be said though Wheatsheaf always looked dangerous and some good tackles from the back 4 and saves from the keeper kept them at bay.  The quality of oppertunity was improving for the Vics and a well delivered cross from Danny Lloyd to Mark Dales feet was the turning point, mark netted cleanly to make the score 2-1 in Tarporley's favour.  A further save from Chris Jones kept us in the game but saw him have to leave the pitch with a cut mouth and mild concussion.  It was Dan Lloyd who went between the sticks fro the last 5 minutes of the game.

Managers Comments: Not a classic today, some mediocre performances from a number of players however we did do something we havn't done to date, we ground out a result and managed  to take 3 points in a bad game this itself is a very big positive

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton, Patrick Anderson, Dom Whitehead, Stew Walker (capt) Matt Dean, Matt Carr, Jordan Marson, Rob Jones, Sean Marsh, Mark Dale, Dan Lloyd, Adam Nichols
MOM - Matt Carr

Saturday 15th December    Vics 6 v Sandbach Town 3 Scorer(s): Stewart Walker, Jordan Marson 2, Dave Ravenscroft 2, Sean Marsh
Sandbach opened up like they meant business and were determined to stay top of the table.  In the opening 10 minutes they produced good football and could have taken the lead, however it was first blood for Tarporley when a superbly delivered corner was flapped at by the Sandbach keeper and went straight into the net.  Dave Ravenscroft added a second and Jordan Marson the 3rd and 4th.  Half time saw the Vics 4-0 up against top of the league
Second half and Sandbach responded to the 1st half well and were more measured, the break had helped but it was the Vics that were still in charge with additional goals coming from Sean Marsh and Dave Ravenscroft.  Sandbach scored a good goal but were gifted a second and third to leave the final score 6-3 in favour of the Vics

Managers Comments: A great performance today against top of the league, still things to learn in the last 1/4 of the game but a well deserved victory, good performances from Jack H, Matt C and a good debut from Rob Jones

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Patrick Anderson, Jack Heaton, Rob Sinnott, Rob Jones, Matt Carr, Stewart Walker (capt) Dave Ravenscroft, Jordan Marson, Mark Dale, Adam Nichols, Paul Gregory, Sean Marsh, Dan Lloyd
MOM - Stew Walker, Dave Ravenscroft

Saturday 1st December    Vics 4 v Malpas 1 Scorer(s): Matt Carr 2, Adam Walton, Jordan Marson
Tarporley played with the slope in the first half but were punished with a bitter pill when a long punt sailed over the keepers head to give Malpas the lead.  The Vics began to work there way into the and had got on top when the Malpas Keeper was injured in a good stop at Sins feet.  Not long after it was Matt Carr who leveled fro the Vics, it was the same player who netted the second for us to go in front.
Second half and the slope to contend with but it does suit our play and some good work saw us extend the lead with goals from Adam Walton and Jordan Marson to give a final score 4-1 in Tarporley's favour

Managers Comments: A terrific performance again today, we have adjusted to the more physical aspect of the game but in general are maintaining the simple football thats so effective and now reaping rewards.  A big test next week as we look at teams above us in the league

Vics team - Chris Jones, Patrick Anderson, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton, Dom Whitehead, Stew Walker (capt) , Matt Carr, Matt Dean, Robbie Sinnott, Jordan Marson, Adam Walton,, Adam Nichols, Ed Hulse, Dan Lloyd
MOM - Matt Carr

Saturday 24th November    Vics 5 v Malpas 2 Scorer(s): Sean Marsh 2, Mark Dale, Matt Dean, Stewart Walker
Today we needed to pick up where we left off last week.  The first 10 minutes was quite frantic with Malpas keen to revenge our previous results.  Chris Jones in goal and the back four were rock solid, shutting down any oppertunities.  It was Sean Marsh who broke the deadlock and then added a second from a well delivered through ball from Matt Dean.  The third came from Mark Dale and a fourth before half time from a well struck Matt Dean shot.
Second half it was first blood to the Vics whwn Stew Walker scored from a free kick.  Vics took there foot off the gas a little conceding two avoidable goals in the last 5 minutes. Final score 5-2

Manager Comments: A great first half picking up from where we left off last week, if we really want to succeed we must continue to do what we do best (pass and move) and not lapse in to solo runs, 40 yard passes or assume someone else will do the job for me.  Overall a good result but we will need to be on top form to take a result against the same opposition next week.

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton, Patrick Anderson, Dom Whitehead, Matt Dean, Matt Carr, Stewart Walker (Capt) Jordan Marson, Mark Dale, Sean Marsh, Dan Lloyd, Adam Nichols
MOM - Chris Jones

Saturday 17th November    Vics 3 v MMU Cheshire 0 Scorer(s): Mark Dale 2, Jordan Marson
Today's game was our first against Premier league opposition, The Vics started slowly and a little hesitant, but belief began to grow.  MMU were stronger ball players than some of our previous opposition so this was a challenge today.  Despite the test we were still prepared to play football and never resorted to kick and hope.  It was a poor mistake that led to the Vics goal, a kick out from the keeper hit Sean in the back and the rebound fell straight to the feet of Mark Dale who calmly lobbed over the keeper.  With some real belief Vics took charge and were rewarded withan excellent second goal from Jordan Marson. Half time saw us in the lead at 2-0
Second half MMU rallied and kept us contained for 30 minutes, stretching our defense but today the back four and the keeper were equal to anything they could  throw at us. MMU were forcing themselves forward but this started to lead to spaces behind them and it was this that was exploited when Matt Carr put Mark Dale clean through for his second of the day.  MMU lost shape trying desperately to snatch a goal but it was Vics who came closest, Final score 3-0

Manager Comments: Our best game to date, the back four were solid throughout, Chris Jones having his best game in between the sticks, Matt Dean started to show me what he has to offer supported well in midfield by Stew W and Matt C.  Mark Dale and Jordan M worked the wings and supported as needed and the front line was led very well by Sean Marsh.  All in all a really positive game, something we should all be pleased with but shows what we can achieve, this is the new expected standard  well done boys

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton, Patrick Anderson, Dom Whitehead, Stew Walket, Matt Dean, Matt Carr, Jordan Marson, Mark Dale, Sean Marsh, Danny Lloyd, Adam Nichols, Stuart Robinson
MOM - Jack Heaton, Jordan Marson

Saturday 3rd November    Vics 2 v Boar Hound FC 5 Scorer(s): Jordan Marson, Andy Rogers
The Vics stated well in what looked to be an even game, but on 15 minutes our normally strong back 4 was undone and Boar Hound took the lead.  Tarporley with the never say die attitude fought back and following some very slick passing and taking wide positions resulted in a Jordan Marson goal from an Andy Rogers cross.   Our excitement was soon lost as we were outdone again from a set piece by the centre forward, the same player causing us all sorts of trouble and in the end we were glad of half time and found ourselves trailing 4-1

It looked a big ask but with this side it may not be to much especially if we could net early. The second half was a transformation, we kept the ball on the ground more (not enough) and when we used the width we opened them up, a number of half chances gave no reward then a Jack Heaton header was handballed and we were awarded a penalty.  It was clearly not our day and the keeper saved.  We were working much harder now and was finally competing with there striker. Probably the only mistake from the back 4 in the second half saw that striker back in the right position again to net Boar Hounds fifth.  Andy Rogers netted to make it 5-2 and for the remainder of the half it was one way traffic in favour of the Vics

Managers Comments:  20 minutes in the first half saw us in complete tatters and whilst we wont come across the a striker of this quality very often we do need to be stronger when we do.  The simple football gave us most success and we must maximise our width for best benefits.  Good performance from Matt Dean and Sean Marsh and also the best half to date from Dan Lloyd.

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Jack Heaton (Capt), Patrick Andreson, Dom Whithead, Matt Dean, Matt Carr, Rob Sinnott, Jordan Marson, Andy Rogers, Sean Marsh, Mark Dale, Dan Lloyd,, Stew Robinson
MOM - Andy Rogers

Saturday 27th October    Vics 0 v Bentley 1 Scorer(s):
Vics were out of the blocks well today seeing several early chances missed, Jordan M coming closest but denied by the bar.  A shell shocked Bentley worked hard to get back into the game and forced us onto the back foot by half time.
An injury early in the second half forced a change but a more determined Bentley side limited our opportunities and managed to score a double deflection to take the lead.  Vics never really got back in charge and stopped playing the simple ball.
Whilst there were no outstanding performances today, there were some solid performances from Chris Jones in goal and the two centre backs Jack Heaton and Patrick Anderson.

Managers Comments: Not our best today particularly later in the game when our descisions were poor, we often selected difficult passes ignoring the easy choice making it too easy for the Bently defence.  Plenty to learn from today as we prepare for the next game

Vics team - Chris Jones, Simeon Aidley, Patrick Anderson, Jack Heaton, Mike Franks, Stew Walker (capt) Matt Carr, Matt Dean, Andy Rogers, Jordan Marson, Adam Walton, Mark Dale, Sean Marsh, Dan Lloyd

Saturday 20th October    Vics 3 v Malpas 2 Scorer(s): Adam Walton 2, Mark Dale 1
The last time our paths crossed earlier in the season the game was very tight, if that game had anything to go by today's would be another good game.  Tarporley played with the slope in the first half and were having the best of play, it was Tarporley that opened the scoring with a good free kick from Adam Walton.  Perhaps today would be the day we took control of a game and dominated from beginning to end or perhaps not.  Malpas had leveled the score within five minutes from the spot and perhaps more disappointingly we conceded a second to trail 2-1.  More chances came for both sides but the score remained the same until half time
Second half kicking up hill would be a tough challenge but we were creating opportunities and limiting Malpas.  Vics netted their second of the day from the head of Mark Dale, the third came from a great strike from Adam Walton.
Several good performances today, Dom Whitehead in the hunt for MOM for third week in a row, steady performance from Jack and Patrick at the back and indeed right across the midfeld, Adam Walton also showing good form but todays MOM goes to JORDAN MARSON

Managers Comments:  Another display of excellent spirit and effort well done boys

Vics team - Chris Jones, Dom Whitehead, Patrick Anderson, Jack Heaton, Dan Lloyd, Matt Carr, Stew Walker (capt) Matt Dean, Adam Walton, Jordan Marson, Mark Dale, Jon Haslam, Paul Gregory

Saturday 14th October    Vics 2 v Sandbach United Eagles 3 Scorer(s): Mike Franks, Tom Oliphant
Vics started well and for the first time we had more players in the squad than could be played, despite a few half chances it was Sandbach that struck first with a good header from a corner.  Tarporley were more than up for the game and were unlucky not to level from efforts from Jordan M, Sean M and a couple of longer shots.  The next goal came from Sandbach, a great finish from an uncharacteristic mistake by our back four.  Half time 2-0 down.
The never say die attitude this group has came to the front and we took charge of the game, several excellent saves and a couple of goal line clearances denied us a goal, then on 65 mins Mike Franks struck a sweet shot to put the score at 2-1.  Vics really dominated the game and peppered the Sandbach goal, they too showed they could defend.  What a bitter blow when a deflection beat Chris to put the score 3-1 in Sandbach favour.  Again we came back this time a goal for Tom Oliphant on his debut.  Two further goal line clearances and as many great saves kept Sandbach in the lead. Final score Tarporley 2 Sandbach 3

Managers comments:  We will make it easy for ourselves one day, some good performances today and our football is improving week on week.  If progress continues as it is and we keep this drive to get a result the team must see benefits in the near future, well done boys

Saturday 6th October    Vics 5 v Winnington Res 2 Scorer(s): Sean Marsh 2, Matthew Carr 2, Jordan Marson
A stretched squad today but we still ahs 12 players that were ready for a game.  Vics started well playing a little faster than we needed to bu t then we settled in to a pattern and were rewarded with a Sean Marsh goal from a well delivered corner.  The next blood however went to Winnington, we quickly struck back with a very well worked string of passes for Matt Carr to net his first of the day.  Matt added a third before half time to make it 3-1
Second half it was the Vics to strike first with Sean Marshes second of the day, but this time it was Winnington who struck back.  A fifth was scored by Jordan Marson and it looked if Stewart Walker had bagged the sixth but it was ruled out for offside

Managers Comments: Some terrific football played in patches today, notable performances from Mike Franks in the first half, very steady show from Jordan Marson and Stew Walker and really solid performance from all the back four

Saturday 29th September    Vics 2 v Wheatsheaf 2 Scorer(s): Dave Ravenscroft, Simon Parker

The game started well for the Vics and a half chance in the opening minutes came and went.  Wheatsheaf played a strange game pushing a highline and missing midfield, despite one of there best players sitting in the middle.  We went through a spell where the game was in no mans land ball played to quick and not deliberate.  Then a bit of naivety cost us dear as we conceded from a free kick. Vics were not ready to give this one up yet and a great cross was met by Simon Parker at the back post to make it 1-1.

Second half we took control but conceded a goal against the run of play, again we were not going to give it up and we again levelled the score from a great individual goal from Dave Ravenscroft.  We were not able to capitalise on our possession and the score finished 2-2.

Manager’s comments: A terrific spirit was shown by today’s squad and we didn’t get the reward we deserved.  Some notable performances today from Dave Ravenscroft, Jack Heaton and  Simeon Aidley

Saturday 22nd September    Vics 3 v Malpas 2 Scorer(s): Mark Dale, Paul Gregory, Jack Heaton
Vics did not start as well as the previous week and were still getting to know one another when we were dealt a bitter blow and conceded from a long shot.  Vics worked hard to get back into the game with notable performances from Stew Walker and Jack Heaton.  At half time we still trailed by the one goal.

We conceded a second, again from a silly mistake and now had a big hill to climb.  Adam Walton started to drive the front and the team began to click.  Vics applied more and more pressure then we got the breakthrough we wanted with Mark Dale netting at the back post.  Malpas keeper was called into play more frequently and a string of good saves looked to be keeping Malpas in the game.  Almost the last kick of the game Paul Gregory met a well delivered ball at the back post to level the score and take us into extra time.

Tarporley pushed the game in extra time and were finally rewarded with only a minute or two left when Jack Heaton met a well delivered corner to put us in the lead

Managers Comments:  The ball play was not as fluid today but our determination was exceptional, well done to all.
