I
would
like
to
thank
all
the
players
that
have
represented Tarporley Vics

this
season, and
believe
the
year
has
been
a
great
success.
We
surpassed
last
years points

finishing
above
both
teams
that
finished

us

We
have
been
to
two
cup

winning
one
and
a creditable
effort
in
the
other.

resulting
a Vics

overall
a
great
performance

Third

and
League

to
the

are
a

and
today
were
blessed
with
a
full
squad.
The
game
started
tentatively
both
sides
finding
there
feet,
as
the Vics
settled
we
started
to
create
chances
but
the Sandbach
keeper
looked
to
match
every
effort
on
30
minutes
the
deadlock
was
broken
when
Sam
Lloyd
put
us
in

we
were
now
clearly
in
charge
and
5
minutes
later increased
the
lead when
Joe
Marley
pounced
onto
a
through
ball.
For
the
next
5
minutes
we
looked
to
have
the
game
and
had
broken
Sandbach,
how
wrong
we
were,
a
magnificent
through
ball
combined
with
a
well
time
run
and
superb
strike
put
Sanbach
back
in
the
game. Vics
go
in
at
half
time
2-1
up.
Second
half
Vics
started
well
and
looked
to
have
the
game
back
in
control,
a
Pete Aidley
run
saw
him
fetched
down
and Vics
awarded
a
penalty.
Whilst
the
penalty
was
not
the
best
credit
must
be
given
to
the Sandbach
keeper
who
denied
us
again.
Several
more
chances
came
and
went
many
denied
by
the
inform
keeper.
Defensively
we
also
had
to
be
alert
the
direct
strong
attackers
were
not
the
easiest
pair
to
play
against
and
they
had
some
determination
to
see
this
game
through.
It
was
Sandbach
who
netted
next,
a
good
call
for
offside
was
overruled, Jonesy
took
a
blow
in
his
attempt
to
save
and
the
ball
ran
free
for
the Sandbach
striker
to
push
it
passed
the
stretch
foot
of
Jacko.
Vics
still
in
the
hunt
were
next
to
score
when
Sam
Lloyd
slid
his
second
of
the
day
post
side
of
the
keper.
28
minutes
still
to
play
plus
injury
time,
at
90
minutes
the
linesman
indicated
we
were
in
injury
time,
2
minutes
later Sanbach
equalised,
still
3
minutes
to
play
but
despite
having
the
better
chances
there
was
no
real
opportunity
to
finish
the
game.
Extra
time
now
being
played, Vics
having
more
of
the
play
but
goal
opportunities
were
fewer,
at
the
end
of
the
first
half
the
game
had
penalties
written
all
over
it.
Half
way
through
the
second
half
Vics
won
another
corner
and
we
made
our
last substitution
introducing
Penalty
taker
Steve Lightfoot
in
preparation.
Sam
Lloyd
delivered
the
corner
which wa
met
by
Rob
Edge
to
put
us
back
in
front.
The
last
7
or
8
minutes
went
very
slow, Sandbach
changing
formation
to
squeeze
an equaliser
but
we
stood
strong
winning
4-3
and
earning
a
place
in
our
first
final
Managers
Comments: Certainly
not
pure

a
gutsy

Own
Goal
Another
tough
game
on
paper
today,
in
5
meetings
we
have
never
secured
any
result
against
Bentley,
loosing
by
one
goal
on
every
occasion.
Our
opposition didn't
have
the
same
look
as
earlier
in
the
season
but
would
no
doubt
still
be
competent
players. Vics
played
into
the
wind
during
the 1st
half
and
had
to
work
hard
to
get
forward.
Playing
wide
was
our
key
and
Joe
Marley
looked
to receive
in
wide
positions,
Sam Winter
working
the
front
line
but
never
neglecting
his
tracking
back.
The
back
4
had
there
hands
full
as
any
little
flick
from
the
Bentley forwards
created
dangerous
situations.
On
each
attack
we
looked
dangerous,
with
Joe
Marley
getting
fouled
on
a
number
of
occasions,
then
we
had
the breakthrough
and
again
Joe
picking
the
ball
up
wide
beat
his
man
and
delivered
a
great
cross,
this
found
Sam Lloyd
on
the
back
post
who
dispatched
a
great
shot
to
beat
the
keeper.
Ten
minutes
later
it
was
Sam
Lloyd
again
who
found
the
ball
at
his
feet
in
the
box,
this
time
he
had
more work
to
do
to
create
a
shooting
opportunity,
he
did
and
netted
his
second
of
the
day.
Defensively
we
rode
our
luck
at
times
but
competed
well,
close
down quickly
and
were
alert. Jonesy
in
goal
more
than
equal
to
anything
that
cam
at
him
and
only
had
to
deal
with
half
hit
shots,
but
did
do
very
well
collecting
through
balls.
Half
time
2-0
and
a
second
half
with
the
wind
to
come.
Bentley
introduced
an
ex Nantwich
Town
player
in
the
second
half
and
changed
there
shape
to
compete
with
the
wind. Vics
were
now
camped
in
the
Bentley
half,
with
Bentley
struggling
to
create
anything,
an
indication
of
how
well
we
had
done
in
the first
half.
A
series
of
half
chances
came
and
went,
some
narrowly
missing
whilst
other
were
a
bit
wild,
some
good
saves
and
last
minute
tackles
looked
to
be
denying
the Vics
of
more
goals
but
predator
Joe
Marley
latched
onto
a
spilled
ball
to
net
the
third,
constant
pressure resulted
in
a series
of
free
kicks
and
corners,
one
well
delivered
corner
met
the
outstretched
foot
of
a
Bentley
player
and
into
his
own
net.
Sam
Winter
also
found
the
net
but
it
was disallowed
for
handball.

a
classic

the
very
strong

but
a
very
genuine
team,
hard
working
effort
that
gave

just
reward.

Again
some
notable

Sam

first

contribution
was
excellent
as
was
that
of
Shaun,
Jack
and
Mark

but
this
week
MOM
goes
to
Joe
Marley
who
worked
hard
and intelligently
for
the
whole

for

were definitely
up
for
this
one
and
came
out
of
the
blocks
ready
to
play.
Within
the
opening
5
minutes
an
opening
created
for
Edgy
who
lifted
it
over
the
bar, Vics
then
created
a series
of
efforts
that
resulted
in
nothing,
being
let
down
by
a
final
cross,
save
from
the
keeper
or
missing
the
target.
It
was Cuddington
that
created
the
nearest opportunity
a
great
strike
from
distance
was
tipped
on
to
the
bar
by Jonesy
but
on
40
minutes
the
breakthrough
came
and
a
good
finish
from
Sam
Winter
put
us
in
front.
Second
half
and
now
playing
against
the
wind
we
expected
a
tougher
half,
whilst
the
play wasnt
as
far
into
the Cuddington
half
it
was
still
in
the Vics favour.Midfield
began
to
bite
and
the
composure
of
Jack Heaton
and
Shaun Packham
in
the
center
of defence
were
difficult
to
break
down. Jonesy
stayed focused
in
goal
and
dealt
with
all
the
through
balls
well.
Sam
Lloyd
and
Pete Aidley
were
now
causing
trouble
and opportunities
kept
coming,
the
second
goal
came
from
a
Pete Aidley
run
and
cross,
it
was
Sam
Winter
once again
on
the
end
of
it.

Comments:
Another
superb
performance,

our

The consistency

difficult.
As

we
were

pleased
today
with
the
conduct,
work
rate,
chances
created,
composure
an
all

top
class
performance.
MOM
This
week
was
the
most
difficult
choice
to

with
great
performances
from

the
central

and
Pete Aidley in

and
no
one
can
knock Deanos
commitment
in
this
one,
two
goals
for
Sam
Winter
and trouble
all
round
from
Edgy.
But
todays
individual
show
above
his

was

no
great
part. Vics
worked
hard
but
nothing
really
run
for
us
today
but
a
touch
of
class
from
Matt
Carr
produced
a
quality
through
ball
that
Rob
Edged
got
a
foot
on
to
steer
it
passed
the
keeper.
We
introduced
some
fresh
legs
with
Ad
Williams
and
new
signing
Sam
Winter. This
direct
approach
paid
dividends
Sam
Winter
netting
and
an
assist
to
put
us
4-1
up.
Again
we
found
the
net
but
this
time
disallowed
for
offside.
The
ref
made
a
big
error with
an
offside decision
that
let MMU
net
a
second
and
gave
a
final
score
of
4-2.

A
strange

this
one,
I
think
we
played
quite
well
but
for

long

we
could
have

A
tough game
envisaged
as
Sandbach
have
been
in
good
form
since
the abandoned
game
in
November.
Tarporley
playing
with
the
wind
had
the
edge
in
the
opening
15
mins,
Sandbach
were
defending
well
getting
bodies
behind
the
ball
and
snubbing
out
the
attacks,
Vics
coming
closest
from
a
series
of
well
delivered
corners
from
Sam
Lloyd.
The
next
10
minutes
of
play
was
a
well
contested
affair
with
neither
team
dominating
but
Sandbach
were
conceding
more
free
kicks
and
it
was
from
of
these
they
were
punished.
Up
stepped
Jonny
Haslam
at
about
35
yards
from
goal
a
very
confident
strike
went
round
the
wall
and
beat
a
fully
stretched
keeper
straight
in
to
the
goal
hitting
the
side
netting,
a
truly
great
goal.
Within
5
minutes
Sandbach
had
forced
there
way
into
the
Vics
box
and
an
untidy
tackle
from
Dom
resulted
in
a
penalty
from
which
they
levelled
the
score.
This
stirred
up
the
Vics
and
we
really
began
to
chase
lost
causes in
an
effort
to
force
errors,
one
of
these
was
Rob
Edge
who
chased
a
dead
ball
into
the
corner
making
a
great
tackle
no
further
than
a
yard
from
the
corner
flag
getting
away
from
his
man
and
delivering
a
great
ball
to
Joe
Marley
to
score
his
1st
of
the
day.
5
minutes
later
a
long
clearance
from
Gregs
was
pounced
on
by
Joe
M
who
very
casually
rounded
the
keeper
and
slotted
his
second
of
the
day.
Half
time
3-1
up
but
a
lot
to
do.
Second
half
was
going
to
be
tough
against
the
wind
and
indeed
there
was
a
shift
in
play
with
the
big
proportion
of
the
game
now
being
played
in
our
half.
Jack
H
and
Shaun
Packham
were
now
playing
a
key
role
in
the
game
and
started
to
show
there
class
dealing
with
everything
that
was
thrown
at
them,
intercepting,
tackling,
heading
and
delivering
without
wasting
the
ball.
Rob
Edge
and
Joe
Marley
always
giving
an
outlet
for
the
hard
working
midfield.
15
minutes
in
and
we
were
dealt
a
bitter
blow
with
a
deflected
shot
beating
the
keeper.
Ten
further
minutes
battling
and
we
made
changes
introducing
Mark
Dale,
This
was
followed
by
the
introduction
of
Tom
Wilson.
A
resoundingly
solid
performance
right
through
the
middle,
with
Mark
Dale
in
top
form
filling
the
midfield
gap
from
defence
we
started
opening
up
Sandbach,
Joe
Marley
and
Rob
Edge
both
being
denied
by
great
saves
from
the
Sandbach
keeper.
The
increased
pressure
paid
off
when
Pete
Aidley
latched
on
to
the
end
of
a
well
delivered
ball
and
it
looped
over
the
keeper.
The
pressure
was
now
off,
Sandbach
were
resilient
but
Vics
were
strong
and
saw
the
game
through.

Vics

the

Sam

following
a
suprb

It
was
the

Vics
then
struggled
a
bit
taking
there

against
a

that
going

of
a
decent

Composure
and
some
quaity

and
Shaun

in
the

kept
our

intact,
only
being
beaten
by
one
quality
through

Towards
the
end
of
the

it
was
Rob

who
increased
the

further.
By
half

started
to

ther

and
internal

had
started.
Vics
now
composed
quickley
put
the

when
Pete

added
another,
at

Vics
made
3

there
ws
no

to

As
our

much
of

bit
of

A
very
competitive
and
even
game
at
what
is
a
difficult
place
to
go.
Bentley
side
had
changed
somewhat
from
last
season
and
had
introduced
a
number
of
younger
quality
players
but
it
was
Vics
who
dominated
the
first
half
playing
the
better
football
and
creating
the
better
chances.
Jonny
Haslam
was
denied
by
a
great
save
but
it
was
a
Rob
Jones
free
kick
that
opened
up
the
scoring.
Vics
had
a
few
opportunities
to
increase
the
lead
and
were
also
doing
a
good
job
limiting
Bentley.
The
second
half
it
was
Bentley
with
the
edge
and
they
levelled
10
minutes
into
the
second
half.
For
the
next
20
minutes
the
games
was
end
to
end
but
as
our
legs
tired
Bentley
came
strong
and
for
the
last
15
we
were
hanging
on.
The
clock
clicked
onto
49
minutes
and
Bentley
took
the
lead
squeezing
the
ball
through
a
desperate
back
4.
The
ref
announced
4
minutes
to
play
and
the
Vics
pushed
forward
to
try
and
get
the
equaliser.
A
fracas
high
into
the
Bentley
half
saw
an
unsavoury
incident
and
the
loss
of
three
players.
Vics
continued
to
push
for
the
last
few
minutes
and
were
camped
in
the
Bentley
half
but
not
able
to
break
them
down.
Managers

A
second
week
where
we
performed
well
and
took
nothing
home.
Overall
today’s
performance
was
very
solid,
with
more
positives,
than
negatives.
A
better

in

and
we

more

Vics
played
very
well
during
the

creating
the

we
were
undone
by
the

Second

Sandbach
had
a

it

Sanbach

In
the
last
10

Vics
came
back
into
the

and
looked
the

most
likely
to

creating
several
close

in
the
closing

also
denied

Not
a
classic
today,
our
squad
was
stretched
in
midfield
through
illness
and
availability
due
to
district
duty.
The
wind
wasn’t
helpful
either.
For
the
opening
5
minutes
it
was
one
way
traffic
in
favour
of
the
Vics
but
as
Winnington
worked
there
way
back
into
the
game
and
starting
using
the
wings
a
unbalanced
Vics
side
struggled
leaving
free
runners
and
putting
the
back
four
and
keeper
under
a
lot
of
pressure.
An
uncharacteristic
mistake
from
Jack
H
let
Winnington
in
to
open
up
the
scoring.
Even
though
the
midfield
were
struggling
there
was
an
underlying
determination
to
succeed,
this
was
typified
with
the
equiliser
when
Adam
Williams
forced
a
winning
ball
just
in
his
own
half,
hitting
the
ball
high
and
long
and
seeing
it
drop
like
a
stone
beyond
the
Winnington
keeper
and
directly
into
the
net.
The
second
was
a
much
neater
affair
with
some
neat
passing
resulting
in
Jonny
H
setting
up
Rob
Edge
to
bag
his
first.
Vics
were
settling
a
little
but
still
stretched
at
times
but
looked
good
going

a
third
was
added
by
Rob

to
give
a
3-1
lead.
Right
on
the
stroke
of
half
time
Winnington
were
awarded
a
penalty
for
handball,
certainly
the
biggest
error
the
ref
made
today
but
Winnington
pulled
one
back
so
Vics
went
in
3-1
at
half
time
Injury
forced
a
second
half
change
and
change
of
formation.
Vics
were
soon
in
the
driving

when
some
neat
football
again
involving
Jonny

led
to
a
nice
cross
for
Dan
Lloyd
to
bag
his

the

The
score
remained
at
4-2
for
quite
some
time
with
the
back
four
and

having
to
stay
alert.
With
15

Joe

was
pushed

In
a
game
when
nothing
went
in
our

we
delivered
a
very
good
performance.
Our
squad
was
somewhat
changed
today
due
to
loss
of
75%
of
our
usual
back
four
to
University
but
the
back
four
was
strong
with
very
limited
mistakes.
Vics
moved
the
ball
well
in
the
1st
half
hitting
the
inside
of
the
post
and
creating
a
number
of
goal
mouth
scrambles.
Winnington
on
the
other
hand
were
limited
to
a
single
chance
and
free
kicks
were
dubious
decisions
had
been
made.
Second
half
Vics
began
to
dominate
and
were
cutting
through
the
Winnington
back
four
with
some
very
neat
football
but
it
was
Winnington
that
opened
up
the
scoring
from
another
free
kick
four
delivered
to
a
player
in
a
very
clear
offside
position
but
was
allowed
to
stand.
Vics
dealt
with
the
bitter
pill
well
and
were
soon
back
in
command,
Winnington
were
being
squeezed
further
and
further
back
limiting
them
to
long
range
shots.
It
was
one
of
these
that
beat
our
keeper
to
put
the
2-0
up
in
a
game
they
were
second
best.
Vics
still
fought
and
were
opening
up
Winninton
with
ease
and
the
first
bit
of
luck
of
the
day
cam
when
Rob
Edge
managed
to
steer
one
in
despite
not
hitting
it
cleanly.
A
second
from
a
long
strike
from
Pete
Aidley
found
thee
gaps
through
a
crowded
area,
all
level
and
some
time
to
go.
It
was
now
one
way
traffic
and
we
were
looking
for
a
winner,
when
the
wheels
came
off.
Looking
for
a
quick
delivery
our
keeper
kicked
a
ball
into
the
back
of
a
Winnington
player
and
it
agonisingly
crept
over
the
line.
We
were
now
playing
a
little
frantically
but
despite
a
constant
pressure
we
were
unable
to
net
a
third.
Manager’s
comments:
The
result
in
no
way
reflected
our
performance
today.
It
was
one
of
our
most
technically
competent
performances
we
have
produced
to
date.
We
have
learned
to
move
the
ball
well,
vary
play
and
compete,
all
very
important
ingredients.
The
season
will
be
a
pleasure
to
manage
if
we
continue
to

this
well,
but
could
also
be
very
disappointing

we
dominate
